i think its one of those things that they have to take a little at a time, like it seems every week they cancel reservations a few weeks in advance

with that said, OC was removed from the monitored list of counties monitored and the governors gon' start implementing opening procedures so its no surprise they'll e reports about it but its also gotta be opening sooner than later, my guess is around october

how long is the furlough extension?

Between Disney World and Land what does it matter about the local cases when you factor in how many people will be visiting from out of state?

No time table at the moment. Just was informed it's going longer than expected. That was our initial guess that October would be around when we open, but who knows. They're not in a rush at this point since WDW isn't having the attendance that they expected.

i think it matters in terms of the governor serving the state

florida governor just doesnt give a sh*t (and a trump supporter and believe the rona do not exist like the pres) while the california governor are far more cautious so thats where the numbers matter

its actually kind of ironic because WDW gets way more tourist while DL gets more locals coming in to the park so you'd think they be more cuatious over there but they're not and instead they are going to increase the guest capacity

but yah, since DL gets majority of locals going in the park, the lower the cases it is in the county/state the better

yah i think WDW crowd is low because a lot of flights are still down, i listen to these dudes who does a podcast from the UK and they were suppose to visit WDW around sep/oct but their flights were cancelled because the other parts of the world do not want any part of us right now

plus people still had to pay full price for a fraction of experience/attractions and most trips to WDW usually cost a lot more because of all the parks you got to hit and many have to get a hotel and stay there for a few days so it cost a lot more while in DL many just drive in the morning and leave at night, some of them are NTers and live in San Francisco/San Jose area so that's about 4-5 hour drive each

Makes sense. Just isn't worth going out to WDW without the full experience. I have no regrets cancelling this month's trip out there. Really hoping it's all good by next summer.

^ Dope, wonder what approach they'll take with this new version. I just re-watched the Eddie Murphy one earlier this week.

Just got back from a 4 day Disneyworld trip. We visited Epcot, Hollywood Studios and Magic Kingdom (2 days). I have to say, Disney is doing everything they can to make everyone feel safe. Even with the rides less than 1/3 full and no Fast Passes (only virtual queue for Star Wars - Rise of The Resistance), there wasn’t a ride with a wait of more than 20min. The lines were all marked so you would stand distanced from the next group, and it was super organized. We still got to eat at all of our favorite places (sit down restaurants) in the parks. There were hand sanitizer stations at the entrance and exits of every ride, restaurant, store, and building, so it became a norm for people to use it often as it was right in front of them and super convenient.

I was hesitant at first because of the mask requirement and the heat but you have opportunities to take breaks (relaxation stations or eating/drinking while stationary). I almost prefer the parks like this to be honest. We booked another trip in the near future, and can’t wait to visit again!

I’d be more than happy to help answer any questions y’all may have about Disneyworld and the experience. As a 10yr Disneyland Annual Passholder, I hope Disneyland can re-open again soon - Downtown Disney capacity crowds is already showing people’s angst, as I know the local annual passholders are more than ready!

the lands gon' be made for your kid, would have been perfect to have halloween there this year too

that spiderman ride looks awesome too

this year will be our first year missing the Disney Halloween party. I’m so lucky to have a son who understands what is currently going on with Covid. He said to me “this year for Halloween we will dress up but we can’t go out trick or treating because of the corona virus. We have to stay safe inside our house.” Broke my heart hearing that cuz he’s not able to enjoy just being a kid. Hopefully next year it’ll somewhat be back to normal again.

For the longest I didn’t take my son to any store because I couldn’t come to grips of putting a mask on my 3 year old. Smh. This new way of life is a major blower. He hasn’t seen any of his friends since February, we canceled our first time at disneyworld which would have been these past two weeks. Instead he has a drive by birthday...I feel terrible.

don’t feel bad!!! I know it’s hard cuz we want the best for our kids. But we gotta be safe so that we can go to Disney world/Disney land when it’s safe to go back. I also have an 8 month old and we have no idea what to expect for his 1st bday cuz we do it BIG since I’m Filipino and my wife is korean. Lol.

Hang in there!!!

we’re all having withdrawals right now but in the meantime....

completely flirting with the idea of going to WDW and Universal in december.
pretty much have it planned just waiting on DL and Universal Hollywood but I doubt that if they opened today that the reservation period would be sorted out in time for someone like me to just go on the site and book
