Check out your local Gap. I got these for $9.97. I love them. And with this price, I could never buy a pair for anywhere near retail . "JAPANESE SELVEDGE"Can anyone point me in the direction of some reasonably priced slim jeans with a distressed light wash? Similar to these?
Want to pull the trigger on these but rise is a big issue for me. Hate low rise jeans http://www.uniqlo.com/us/product/me...141458.html#63|/men/bottoms/jeans/pure-blue/|
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Those are $108 on gap site.
Gonna grab some apc this weekend. I'm usually a 34 and like straight to slim fit. I'm thinking new standard maybe a tad bit to big but I don't want petite standard either. What y'all think I should go with. I'm not skinny. About 185. 5'10

petite new standard?
?PNS is tighter than PS. Sounds like your best bet might be sizing up on a pair of PS. Other than that, you can only be so picky. APC only has 4 fits.
I have both pairs, PNS fit me tighter, especially in the calves and ankle. They have a more aggressive taper?PNS is tighter than PS. Sounds like your best bet might be sizing up on a pair of PS. Other than that, you can only be so picky. APC only has 4 fits.
PNS are baggier according to the measurements. Knee down they're the same but the thighs are bigger for the PNS.
Yep, I didn't believe it until I tried on a pairPS have a wider leg opening than the PNS, but not by much.[thread="31889"]Denim School/6690#post_20357743[/thread]

PNS have a very aggressive taper. Once they break in the stacks look great

Hey guys I was hoping some of you could help me out with this. I just copped a pair of selvedge raw 501's and ive read conflicting articles on whether I should soak them before wear or soak them when I'm finally ready to wash them. I do not plan to wash them all the time... And I'm no stranger to Shrink to fit (levis raw) and really Ijust love the way these fit after they have shrunk.
Anyways do you guys soak your raw+ selvedge denim? Do you sit in the tub with them? How hot should the water be? Really hoping to get some nice fades on these as the indigo is super dark , almost black.
Thanks for any advice you can give. I am trying to be mo e careful with these since they were about 3x more than normal STF (I usually just soak them for 2 hours in hottest water possible)
No need to soak them before you wear them. Soaking before wearing are for unsanfornized denim which means they'll shrink 2" waist and shrink at other places as well like the rise, knee, thigh, and leg opening. Most unsanfornized denim are the higher quality denim brands like pure blue Japan, samurai, flat head, etc. most lower tier brands like unbranded, Levi, apc, etc are sanforized which means you don't need to soak them before wearing them. Hope that helps
Edit*
Also, hotter the water, the more it'll shrink. You can wear them in the tub to reduce the shrinking but when you soak or wash them again in the same temp you used before when wearing the jeans in the tub, they'll shrink more. Colder the water the less shrinkage.
You answered my question eventhough I think you're confused. The pair of 501's I bought are raw... Meaning they are unsanforized. Hence the reason I sized up 2inches on the inseam and length. I just wasn't sure whether soaking them was necessary. But I'm guessing it is , since you yourself stated unsanforized denim has to be soaked. Thanks
I think your confused bro... Just because they're raw doesn't mean their unsanforiEd
Only a select few are and most are the upper tier raw denim
I stand corrected. Tbh I'm not too familiar with Levis. but one thing I know for sure is that raw doesn't mean unsanforized. You definitely can't use them interchangeably. There are raw jeans that are sanforized like apc, 3sixteen, etc.
