You can do this on Twitter. Plenty of fake accounts on instagram and facebook meant for trolling. You can be as anonymous as you want online if all you need is a burner email to sign up.
This applies to twitter to. It was a micro-blogging platform meant for dialogue. You couldn't even add pictures to tweets until like 2011.

I do not peruse twitter, so again, I cannot speak on it. All I do know is that several friends of mine had their facebook accounts flagged, because their real names didn't sound real. They were too Black sounding. Facebook caught some flack about that as well.

This is why I say SM is what you make it because you can be on any SM site and share the information you want and communicate with people who also want that same level of privacy
IG is full of accounts of mystery account owners sharing non personal information on a myriad of subjects. But if you choose to follow the "real" people who share their personal information they are just as available.
It's your choice what you allow within your SM bubble.

I deleted my FB about 2 years ago and not going back. Might do the same with IG since I barely post there. I'm really only active on here and on Twitter

I deleted FB but i have a bunch of old pics from 10 years ago there lol but my family who takes it so serious gets mad i dont ever "like" their posts.

my only complaint about no IG/FB are the raffles you miss out on that require them to enter

wearing a mask in public doesn't make you invisible nor does it mean you're not there

Social media is what you make it. FB wise, I rarely post anymore on my newsfeed. I’m mostly in sports and jersey groups on there which I do post on which are kinda like mini messageboards in a way.
On another note, I’m curious as to what influence social media has on society in say about 20 years. I’d say most of NT ranges between 20-40, so a lot of use grew up around it and had it in their lives when it really started to get big. Some of us were old enough to use MySpace and some of the smaller sites before it. But that age group was the first to have social media that accessible to them and we were really like the lab rat test dummies for it in a way.

I don't know about 20 years from now, but it it'll be our main form of information/news until a new medium or technology comes out. This has been the case with every platform: newspaper, radio, television, internet, social media

But wearing a mask in public would be considered anti social, while also exhibiting anti social behaviors. Social media platforms try and discourage such behaviors, albeit in an ineffective manner.

Deleted my twitter app and wiped my old tweets, follow like 400 people and they talk about the same stuff daily or try to get off jokes on people started to seem pretty toxic.

i used to only use facebook to post silly **** from my life and now i mostly post stuff about my kids (yes, i'm one of those). recently though, i started checking out the groups more and ended up trading some reptiles with a guy in florida and through him, reconnected with an old friend from hawaii.
i been using ig mostly as an outlet to post macro pics ever since my wife got me a lens attachment for my phone some years back. i enjoy looking at the stuff other people post ...from their food, to their families, to their travels, and whatever.
i waste too much time on both of those sites.
