Deleting Social Media

you dont have to be real on forums, anyone can sign up with info

its not linked to other things exactly outside of cookies for ads

most forums(and other places like reddit) also have strict doxxing rules

how is this different from the majority of other SM sites?
Twitter, IG, Reddit

Delete your NT account. It's still social media; doesn't matter if your real name or pic is on here. You don't need personal info on tumblr or twitter to talk about sneakers either..
Always hilarious when peoole try to rationalize why NT isn't SM. Literally makes NO sense.

And for those of you that keep saying Forums are anonymous, you CAN be anonymous on Twitter as well

Twitter and Reddit I put in different categories than IG and FB.

Twitter is an amazing source of news still, as is reddit. Both can be read and browsed without a user account to a great degree.

Forums and reddit to a good extent can be interacted with without an account also.

Just my opinion though.

It is a form of social media, but forums did not have that association until social media was created, correct? I could be wrong, but weren't My Space and the like created to connect socially both on and then off the internet? I do not really know if Forums were created for a purpose outside of discussion, which really isn't social, IMO.

Never personally seen the interest for facebook twitter instagram or any of them other websites if it wasnt about promoting a business to come up on some dough which is why i steer cleared of them ,some of my customers tell me i can make more money if i used them joints but im good ..this joint is a spot to have small chit chat about kicks & keep it moving...youtube which people said is social media also is good to look for music specifically older joints....but to each their own(just my personal opinion)

I want you to read this underlined sentence 10 times and stop and think about what you said.

LOL! I wrote it! I hope that you know what I meant! Discussion online isn't considered social to me. Social media means personal interaction, sharing information, knowing who you are talking to, seeing their pictures....:lol:

One of my mans luv doing this ****...yo talks about “deleting” his IG like every couple months then comes right back after a few weeks to follow strippers and twerkers :lol :{

Discussions aren't social? You just be talking to yourself?

Just because the phrase didn't come into the language lexicon until relatively recently, doesn't mean it shouldn't hold true. In the 90s people had issues with their kids glued online to forums and chat sites for the same reasons people complain about Twitter and Instagram.

DISCUSSION isn't SOCIAL? Cool.

I respect your intelligence too much for me to take this statement seriously right now.

We can dead it because I debated this enough with folks on here.

Respect my brother

I do not know who I am talking to, and I surely do not share personal information on here. Nobody on this site knows what I actually look like, nor where I live, if I am married, or what my sexual orientation may be.

So to y'all social media is "verified" real people sharing their personal information with others?

Everything you said HERE, I can say about Twitter.

Not even debating if NT is SM or not anymore but Twitter CAN be 100% anonymous.

The difference is that I am not being antagonistic with you. I respect you as well, no doubt. But as you know, many cats in here hide who they really are, calling themselves Tupac, avy is a pic of Idris, and it will be little Tommy Flanagan from Idaho on the other end. I guess I am speaking about authenticity.

The difference with NT (For me) is the fact that I’ve been on this site since I was 13, in 2001. Literally a full 5+ years before stuff like MySpace, FB, and 10 years before IG or Twitter.

HOWEVER, I definitely can understand how someone who’s now a pre-teen, teenager, or someone in their early 20s is consumed by social media.

Because heck, at 14, Niketalk CONSUMED me. I couldn’t wait to get home and sign into NT. The fundamental difference though is NT was text driven and imagery was minimum. But even when videos and images became prominent on NT, we still had a dialogue.

The funniest thing though, are people who are 28+ years and older who wild out on social media, like they don’t remember a world before it. I expect kids to be consumed by social media.

But people on their 30s, 40s, and 50s, etc? I just find it funny.

Niketalk is my social media comfort zone. So, I can understand how IG/Twitter/FB, etc is a comfort zone for teenagers and young adults.

And I’m sorry but, the WORSE thing is your 50 year old mothers or father saying “hey, look at this” and directing you towards their phone to look at some stupid video or picture, or asking for a selfie (I don’t do selfies).

And people playing loud stuff without headphones.

Lastly, I’ve heard there are people who watch porn on their phones in public??? Like WOW
:sick::sick:

It being text driven was due to design but likely due to lack of options on hosting videos online
