I mean female lead superhero movies. It is a waste of resources they could use on a better franchise. Not being sexist either. I love many females heroes like BW, Jean, Psylocke, Supergirl etc. A Black Widow espionage style movie is the only movie i could see being good.

If you've got some time you guys should check out this roundtable discussion on Affleck as Batman. I'm very excited about it. People are hating on him for movies that came out over a decade ago. Look at Affleck resume for the last 5 or 6 years. Dude has been money. Physically, he's definitely got it down as well, he's 6 ft 4, 200+ lbs. The issue that film fans have is that we lack vision. We see an actor in a similar role and think "He's a good fit because he was in X movie." Its the same thing that happens with every new Bond. People just can't imagine someone new playing Bond because they haven't seen it yet. Remember how much everyone hated the casting of Heath Ledger as the Joker? or Anne Hathaway as Catwoman?

Heath was the first choice.. studio reportedly had interest in Adrian Brody and Robin Williams but Nolan insisted on Ledger because he met with him for the part of batman around the time of BB and they hit it off

If true, that should make plenty of people happy.
Some of the rumors are sounding ridiculous though, Cranston on a 6 movie deal and Affleck on a 13? That would give DC/WB a decade full of film but I honestly do not even think they know what they want to do after this film.

I didn't think you were coming ta me but I thought the joke was self-explanatory. The description of how Affleck played the guy in Argo is exactly how Batman is so you can't really say good in one role means he'd be good in anything, that was not the joke. The joke is Affleck already played a version of Batman in a different film and people loved it but then go crazy thinking he can't do Batman. I thought that was obvious. I mean it is a joke so there has to be some reaching and exaggeration but it made sense.
