Prototype picture or not, I remember when a new Air Jordan shoe was by far undoubtedly a classic the 1st time you laid eyes on them.
, people loved it and still do.
XIV - Love/Hate. It is still that way, since these were around forever when they originally came out and when they came out as a retro.
XV - Really, it seems that nobody likes this shoe.
XVI - I remember a lot of people that liked Jordan's call these "Payless Shoes", the gimmick of the removable shroud was not succesful. People like it now, but if it were to retro would it be popular?
XVII - Not a lot of people liked these or their $200 price tag.
XVIII & XIX - These two were not well received by NT or the general public.
XX - NT'ers love this shoe, myself included, but I never heard anyone say anything good about this shoe in person.
XXI & XXII - Nice and simple, back to basics type shoes that landed on sales racks.
I was too young or simply don't remember the response to the I-VIII (My own response, not others). As far back as I could remember in real life (AJ IX) or my online life (AJ XVII), every Jordan has been met with skepticism. Sure some have become classics, but I don't think any Jordan was seen as being and "Instant Classic".
If you say Jordan's were a Classic the first time you laid eyes on them, you are either too young to remember or you are formulating an opinion based on a nostalgic fantasy.
Personally, I will wait until I see a better pic and then until I hold the shoe in my hands to come up with a conclusion.
