I know DePaul is in the city (location is sick), I think Loyola is too but I think it is in the north of the city- didn't see the campus.

Urbana-Champaign is like 2 hours from Chicago. Loyola is pretty close to the northern city limit, but like 30-40 minutes by train to downtown.

My mom was trying to get me to go to Depaul but I was like , no .

I don't know, I prefer to walk so I want my Apt to be close to the chill spot aka downtown/shopping centers. ETC.

better yet, why did you chose Loyola ?

There is UIC (University of Illinois Chicago) that's just west of the Loop maybe you're think of that.

But Depaul and Loyola are very similar in lot of respects and very different others as well. I don't think you can really say one is better than the otherdefinitively just for specific things and reasons. But since you asked about diversity, both of them are chalked full of white kids from suburbia but Depaul isfar certainly the more diverse between the two but neither are great. Loyola has better female/male ratio something like 70/30 but in my own experience as Istated before Depaul girls FTW.

And yes about the Apt. depending on where you live in the City you could have a kind of live spot for 800-1000. And car is totally unnecessary, it's usefulto know someone with a car, but it's more of hassle most of the time than it is helpful.

I will probably come during winter break to check out the schools prior to deciding and will start my junior year at either DePaul or Loyola.

I don't think Loyola wins for location. Lincoln Park is kinda ill. Don't get me wrong there are about a million douche bags and wack mother +$+#%%#that live in Lincoln Park but trust me Licoln Park is way more "poppin' " than Rogers Park and unless you're a business major you'regoing to have to deal with Loyola's Lakeshore Campus quite a bit, if not live there.

What you got against Uptown/Rogers Park

I live by Loyola and I can tell you its cool. You got Indian Town, Argyle/Little Vietnam, Evanston (Northwestern U), Howard St., the lake/beaches, The Aragonand Riviera (concert venues), The Green Mill (throw back bar)

..... etc all close. Plus the 147 express bus will get you downtown in 15 minutes.
