Tommy Hilfiger thinks it's ridiculous to wash jeans. With that stance, I feel like it's safe to assume which camp he falls into in this topic. Just curious where everyone else stands with the jeans.

Also, I wonder if genetics play a part. Caucasians ancestors are from Europe so it's probably colder and they feel less of a need to cleanse regularly, whereas Africa is much hotter, causing more sweat, more bacteria, more chance of disease, therefore we are wired to take it more seriously.

There are people from "hot climates" who do not "shower daily". I dunno about this one.


I do agree that baths during the winter would have been very difficult to do back then.

Wrangler Jeans from Wal-Mart? 2-3 max.

Designer Jeans with Elastane? 5-10 wears. Running a UV wand over them between wears is enough to kill bacteria and reduce any moisture that may gradually build up.

Laundry detergent has too many chemicals so it's best to use only when absolutely necessary.

I don’t wear jeans but as far as bottoms go I don’t wash my chinos or corduroys after every wear or even every other wear. Really just depends on if I got a stain on them, odd odor attached and what I did in them. Same with my dry cleaning for my dress trousers as well as suits/sport coats/outerwear. Don’t want them to get worn down and/or faded.

Dress shirts and polos are getting dry cleaned and everything else is getting washed after one wear, though.

Edit: I would highly recommend that you all invest in a high quality iron and a steamer.

I only own one pair of jeans. I dry clean most of the clothes I wear out. The only thing I really wash is lounge clothes, athletic wear, underwear and bedding.

What do you mean by “Just came off the street”? If I get that “Hey come over (or im coming over) text”, I’m definitely showering beforehand. Not doing so would be lazy and savage

But if im going on a dinner/drinks date, girlfriend or otherwise, I’m showering pre-date but definitely not pre-sex. It gets dicey if I have date immediately after work but I’ve never had any problems or complaints

Both showered and fresh before date, then good food, good convo, drinks flowing, your affection growing, high sex drives and it means an immediate ravaging as soon as the door closes behind you back from the date. You kinda waste that high if you gotta do an hour routine again before getting to it.

I've never really subscribed to the notion that something can't be cleaned. If I wear it, it has to be cleaned.
Some folks don't and that cool for them. It's gross but that's not my problem.

I just have an issue when there's an attempt to flip it like i'm weird one for being clean. You don't shower everyday and you have the means to? Cool for you, but that's disgusting. Own that.
