Boozer got over just like Joe Johnson.

Thank goodness we didnt get AmareI still say we should've front loaded Boozer's contract..
Here's what the top 2010 free agent power forwards will be making next season:
Amare - 23.4M
Chris Bosh (if he stays) - 20.6M
Boozer - 16.8M
David Lee - 15M
Dirk was also available as well but we all knew he wasn't leaving Dallas.
As much as we criticize Boozer, he got paid market value for a guy averaging 20 & 10 at the time. We probably could've got him for 5 yr/65 Mil but after striking out on Wade/Bosh/Lebron, we had to make sure somebody took our money. Thank God we didn't sign Amare though
I'm pretty pessimistic about our situation. Our Fo hasnt shown that they can trade for a big name. We all how its gone in the past as far as luring big time free agents ie...McGrady, Grant Hill, Le*****, Bum Wade etc............................. i see no light at the end of the tunnel.
off topic but how the hell is this possible
K.C. Johnson @KCJHoop
Deng: "I'm happy I got a chance to play for such a great organization for so long. To do what I did there, no one could ever take it away."

More from Deng: "I just want people to know we never asked for $15 million. Who knows what I would've taken last summer? That bothers me."
Did our FO say that he requested 15, or was that just the rumor?

"“Three days before the trade, Gar called me upstairs and put three years, $30 million on the table. Take it or leave it. No negotiation. I said no and that was it. But 15? That’s the only thing that upset me. I’m not upset with the organization. I want everyone to understand that. If I was a GM, would I make that move? Maybe."
I still agree with the decision but Damn |I
I don't think the FO explicitly said it, but I know it was floated through the radio. That could also mean the FO said it through different channels.
Here's the link to the KC Johnson article. It's interesting to say the least:

In all fairness to Amare--He's been hurt for the last couple of seasons. The man works incredibly hard and puts in the work to be effective when healthy. He's been back this season and has consistently put up solid number coming off the bench. He's still not 100% healthy though. When healthy--Amare is a solid threat to give you 16-18 a game with 8 board. He also has a nice perimeter game that Boozer doesn't have. His post game has vastly improved as well. Asides from Kobe, Amare has benefited the most working with Hakeem Olujuwon during the offseason. He has a legit post game now.
Boozer fits better with the Bulls though. It worked out for you guys. The contract Boozer got was purely out of situation. He was going to make that much money anywhere he landed.
I would've been on legit suicide watch if we had Amare & Rose
Im not with that we tried crap. FO low balled Lu on purpose knowing he would walk, you cant offer your 2nd best player basically the same contract as taj. I do think a number could have been met that suited our future plans and showed LU some respect. Like I said a new FO is really whats needed.
Now its time for Jimmy to grow up quickly because weather he wants it or not he is being molded on and off the court as the bulls next glue guy.
I disagree, that 3 yr 30mil was a fair offer.
i said the same thing 10mil/year for a player thats on the decline is pretty good offer. now Deng will probay wind up getting 12-13mil/year. but he imo wont be appreciated by his new fans/team like our fans/coaches appreciated him in the CHI
tell you what Deng a damn fool if he turned down 3yr/$30mil.
