BREAKING NEWS: Yao's career might be over

I had a funny feeling his injury was more serious than we were let on back when he initially suffered it. It's like they knew what happened but they didnt want to break the news right away and turn it into national headlines.

Anyways, I feel for Yao...he was the best C in the league for a brief spell but the injuries have become too much and I think his career is pretty much over. Maybe he attempts 1 more comeback but his body appears to be too frail to handle the rigors of a professional basketball career.

good for him for staying so positive.

I see this playing out like Bill Waltons finish to his career. Sit a year maybe more figure out the issue then be a role player on a already good team.
I hope though it ends better then that but with big dudes and there feet/legs its hard to read...

Career averages of 19, 9, 2, 52% FG, 83% FT.

His last full season in the league (08-09) he averaged 20, 10, 2, 55% FG, 87% FT.

Sounds over-rated to me.

Why all you guys saying "I coulda told you this 3 years ago" Obviously we alll could have seen this coming, you're not alone lol. Is everyone just gonna completely ignore that Yao Ming retired due to injuries early on in his career though? Dude was a very big name, something big (literally and figuratively) that came to the NBA.

We should more so look on how sad it is.

Could you imagine living 3 years of your live not being able to walk normally or rehabbing, then to come back just to get a different injury thats just as bad. Somehow this dude stays in a good mood and finds some humor in it.
