Boardwalk Empire Season 5 Thread - Series Finale - Eldorado

GREAT episode.

Those who think Nuck and Narcisse are still working together bc of the club are wrong IMO. The ONYX club is done. There was a murder there. No one is going back.

Chalky looks like he's ready to be full time gangster now. Perhaps they make the DMV area a part of the show now. If Florida to AC/NY is still in effect, Chalky could play a part.

Eli got off cause they pinned the murder on Narcisse.

Nucky bout it.

Harrow's story got full closure. Obviously you could have made him go to his family and just never show him again in the show but that would have left more questions.

I'm not the type that needs happy endings to be satisfied, but there's no way Harrows story is closure. In a year the dads gunna be dead and the girl is gunna be stuck alone on low income with a kid who's got a dead dad whose body was just discovered and a grandma that's in jail.

The writers said they wanted this season to be dark, but I think in sticking to making season 4 "the dark season," they compromised how Harrow's story should have ended.

Too many people get confused and think dark automatically = sophistication and better story telling. It definitely didn't in this case.

Also, I thought Narcisse was a dope villain at first, but his act wore on me toward the end of the season. I was disappointed he wasn't killed, although it was cool to see Hoover expose him.

Harrow :(

Legit feels man

I'm assuming we'll probably see more NY and Chicago than anything next season. If you knew Mafia history then you knew that Torrio was going to survive.

Al unleashed is about to be a problem!

Wondering where they're taking this Hoover thing cause he refused to even acknowledge oragnize crime in this country until like the late 50's early 60's...

Next seasons gotta be Nucky vs Chalky right?

It's not like Chalky actually knew Nucky had his back. Narcisse definitely made it seem like they were in on everything by randomly showing up and sitting down a Nucky's table at the onyx bar knowing Chalky would be looking for him after he beat down the singer and after Narcisse told him about the latest pact between him and Nucky before the whole Harrow/Mabel tragedy.

Anyone else disgusted by Chalky's actions this season? After last seasons heroics he basically turns his back on his people and his entire family (right before his daughter is to be married too) for some high yella cheeks. I thought he was better than that.

Are we watching the same show?

Outside of him owning the club and getting turned out by the singer, Chalky been bout that life full time.

Eli didn't get off... he lost his family, the respect of his son & brother and he's now forced to hide in Chicago. Hoover only mentioned pinning the Knox murder on Narcisse just to get him to be an informant. Narcisse had no idea what Hoover was talking about he just knew that whatever Hoover pinned on him would stick to a black man that wasn't even a citizen of the US.

The Harrow feels are still strong the morning after, but I'm starting to realize it was his time (just sucks to see him go out the way he did). Suppose he made it back to the his sisters house and survived; where would his story go from there? Gillian somehow tracking him down? Nucky calling on him for more favors? Richard clearly didn't want that life anymore, and his nerves showed it with his trigger finger.

As much as I hate her character, I feel like Margaret is smart enough to one-up Rothstein :{ .

Nah Chalky just didn't expect to have Narciesse be in the heroin game making power moves in AC. his relationship with Daughter was just a fling, a bridge between the 2 characters.

I'm disgusted with Purnsley trying to murk Chalk...:{ :{

Good season ending, it will be interesting to see what role Nuck plays since everyone in AC is gone except for Will,Nuck and Doyle :lol :{

:{ at the thought of Mickey outliving Richard.

Mickey is a politician.

Never bites the hand that feeds him, takes orders, don't really cause no problems.

Dudes like that last longer than they should in many walks of life.

The person he's based off of is murdered in 1931. Gonna be a few seasons before he gets his. Get comfortable.

Wondering how much longer this series can go on for. We're entering season 5, and I'm sure time will have advanced a year or so. I would love to see things go well into the '30s, but who knows.

I never read that stuff writers or creators talk about for upcoming seasons so I didn't hear that dark season talk. To me this didn't seem like anything new. Every season has been dark.

I think you forget Harrow's wife will still be with his sister and her husband. She'll find someone new

I don't really see how Harrow's story "should have" ended. Before this ep I wasn't even thinking he'd be one of the ppl to die.

Nah, Chalky basically did what Nucky did last season with Billy.

No reason he should go against Nuck. Narcisse didn't wasn't in on his own assassination. Seems like Chalky requested Harrow the way he was looking up at his room in the club waiting for Narcisse to die. Plus it was Chalky that fed Nuck the whole I know where Daughter is lie which he knew would get him a sit down with Narcisse.

I figure show ends with Nuck's last arrest and then skip to his death.

Chalky's dialogue with Nucky was awsome.

Same with Chalky and Narcisse awesome.

Chalky has to think Narcisse people murdered Maybel.

I think Chalky has a huge role next year especially bc he now is set up in new territory and Maryland was huge for bootlegging in the 20s.

Nice caps ^^ im upset over chalky's daughter getting caught in the middle. Imean why even bring her out ? Made no sense, she was fine by the door with a gun to her head. And then out of all the game 7's where harrow is like the GOAT...he misses a clutch lay-up ftw. Nahh...you cant make someone like that seem so weak at that moment. No matter if he wanted out of that life or not...dude was a killing machine, had the shot lined up for what seems to be forever...and got cramps at the last second. Smh

Looking at those Harrow screen caps has me feeling some type of way. Dude was dealing with so much throughout the show and just as he was finally finding happiness, he was killed. Harrow will be missed.

Anyone think that Chalky is done for the series? Resigning himself to his mentor's home.

@BlackIntellect I think the Daughter is on a train going West. When she was singing at the end you can hear the sound of a train. Plus her and chalky talked about going to Cali.
