Black Culture Discussion Thread

Its sad on multiple fronts. It just shows how many of us aren't paying any attentions and the fact thay we aren't paying any attention is detrimental to the struggle. Dude said this was a bad idea in January, but now because Trump won is his fault. :{ Not to mention Abbott was wide open about immigrants coming to Texas and Texas just shipping them off to other states. Honestly, at this point, I dont understand why we don't go to the root of this immigration problem.

Unpopular opinion, I think most people want stricter border control but they wouldn't admit it in public because of fear of how that makes them look politically.

Personally, I dont think its as big of a problem as some have been making it. Its just a quick and easy way to get votes from ignorant xenophobes as they dont know the real reason why immigrants, lets be honest, they're talking about Mexicans, come over. If it was the problem they say it was, we handle it as such. The REAL problem is how WE handled it.

I think it's highly offensive to tell the families of this situation to, "Not fall for divide and conquer. "

Their children were literally told to not come to school because another group of people are being prioritized.

Again, stop looking at it from YOUR (fortunate) situation.

Thanks for posting this DCAllAfrican DCAllAfrican . Unfortunately we have some individuals in this very own “Black Culture Thread” that wish and desire for black people to continue to take a backseat to other groups and somehow make them a priority over us……..all while they get an opportunity to use our tax dollars.

To that I say not just no……..but hell no!! WE can no longer go with the “go along to get along mentality and mindset” that has set us back. Ain’t no “people of color” nonsense or none of that. As it pertains to US…..it’s black and black only. It’s starting to look like the Black Culture Thread has been infiltrated here on NT. Even we aren’t exempt.

I'll meet you both in the middle.

I understand the frustration with seeing the "Divide and conquer" working on our folks but also acknowledge we are able to see it in real time. Intellectually and financially, we are in a place of privilege to even be ABLE to see it happening.

To expect poor folks that can barely rub two pennies together be able to rationally look at that situation is a lot to ask. To THEM, their families have been struggling for generations and all they see are newcomers getting handouts.

Perspective.

The people who set the conditions have successfully sold them the propaganda. I said many times I understand how hard it is to even care about truth/nuance when you’re struggling and in need. That is not lost on me at all.

There is an inverse to the super predator thing from the past here….that we will watch play out in similar fashion. **** is cyclical. I understand the nuance there too.

To see black people actually supporting their REPLACEMENTS coming over here….ILLEGALLY by the way and literally funding their room and board via vouchers and hotel stays is just…….staggering.

Watching you mainline great replacement theory is wild

The visa overstays are the illegal immigrants you should really worry about. But you haven’t been told yet that they are your replacements.

So they can't rub two pennies together but they can get political tees screen printed to storm an official meeting?

I don't remember such protests when Rahm Emanuel decided to close down 100s of schools throughout the West and South Sides of Chicago, which are mostly Black neighborhoods, in the name of government efficiency.

I don't remember such energy when the last mayor Daley signed off on a deal that gave a private company control of the city parking portfolio for 99 years. Chicago is one of the most visited cities in the world, and Daley gave away this revenue stream in exchange of a one time payment of $2 billion! And none of those folks were there to talk about any of this.

And now they have the energy to ask Donald "Central Park Five" Trump to take care of this "negro" mayor, all because they bought into a propaganda ploy by southern governors using migrants as a political weapon.

Why are people who are cosigning this message of hate ignoring the many American towns were immigrants have actually revived the local economy? Why are people ignoring the fact that southern governors' actions are the genesis of the mess?

“Been told”………stop projecting champ. If that’s how and when YOU get updated on things just say that. Believe it or not that’s not how the rest of us get informed. I work in DC and see how the ILLEGAL migrants move and operate everyday. Be it from there arrival at the VP’s house at the National Observatory by way of a chartered bus, to downtown DC looking like little Venezuela with ILLEGALS riding around on scooters driving in and out of traffic running red lights looking like the 12 o’clock boys from around your way in BMore. To now those same ILLEGALS going into black neighborhoods such as Saratoga and Benning Courts getting into it with the black residents.

It has nothing to do with “been told” champ. It’s about what I see, witness and are privy to in regards to what’s happening in DC. Now if YOU with the few others in here want to sympathize with the ILLEGALS and give them priority over black people just let us know champ.

1. You do understand those folks in the link aren't the only ones that have spoken out against the injustices right?

2. Nobody protested the school closings? A simple Google search could have told you otherwise but hell even at the time there was noise coming from Chicago folks. Not sure where you pulled that one from but ok.

All I'm saying. Not sure why so many are trying so hard to pretend they don't understand that. Again, most folks here are educated/successful men so it's funny that folks that call themselves progressive fail to see how folks that are struggling could possibly feel the way they feel.

You do realize they didn't catch that bus in Mexico, right?

Its a set up and you're falling right into it.

Obviously champ. They get into the US by……..well ILLEGALLY crossing over an unsecure border, get incentivized to stay here ILLEGALLY, hence sanctuary cities, get a bus to those designated sanctuary cities and then stay on the backs of taxes from black citizens and pushed to the front of the line over us. Supporting illegals is determental to black people.

Where are you seeing people in here say they don’t understand? It’s a whole mix of things.Feels like you are projecting here. Nobody is saying the immigration issue is perfect, and not understanding why “people without 2 penny’s to rub together” would fall for some of the stuff they are falling for. Literally just said it in the other thread, responding to you :lol.

This Seems like projection. That’s not all you were saying dawg :lol. I think this is a much deeper convos than, “the illegals are replacing da blacks”…I mean, you’re watching propaganda play out….seeing how the talking points are cynically mis-informing vulnerable people. And decide to lean in :lol. History tells us **** like this, never makes it better. But you see the road it’s going down. Being better educated or older doesn’t make any what I’m saying less true. Fred Hampton was in his early 20s, with no real schooling…and talking about how to not fall for these types of okie dokes.

Literally rewarding the folks that create the conditions. It’s ****** up. But talking on this message board is futile, about this. I see where the tea leaves are.

“Sympathize with illegals over black” is craaaaaazy framing….for simply telling folks to not fall so hard for these propaganda lines.

We just won’t see eye to eye on this. You’ve been took, and I get it. It’s ok, champ. Happens to the best of us.

So when the initial post was made and the first response is the, "Divide and Conquer" card being used instead of trying to be empathetic to what/how those black folks are feeling there (and in other cities) to me that tells me they either don't understand or simply don't care. I don't think I am projecting at all, I am basing it off of the responses.

I'm referring to the "lynch this negro" energy coming out of those folks. This level of vitriol was inexistant towards elected officials who had a much direct and negative impact on their daily lives than those immigrants will ever have. I was living there at time, the schools ended up closing, and the elected officials who did it are still walking around town without fearing for their safety.

it's funny that folks that call themselves progressive fail to see how folks that are struggling could possibly feel the way they feel.
The point is that nobody should validate feelings borne out of misinformation.

The facts are that "blue" cities are being targeted by people who don't live there, who hate them for living there, and who want to trick their populations into scapegoating immigrants who have little to do with governance issues that precede their presence. It simply isn't right or factual to ignore all of this in favor of anti-immigrant hate.

How would you like that empathy to be shown on a message board? I can’t speak for everybody, but those are divide and conquer tactics. Stating that, does not take away any empathy people may have to black folks struggling in these cities.

Advocating to be sharper and more aware (so you don’t get taken even more) is empathetic to me. Harsh, yeah….but it is what it is. That message, is what’s led to improvements with black consciousness, collectively (IMO). “Rounding up illegals, and deporting them and a black mayor on day 1” because some white billionaires told you they are the problem…is some other ****.

I’m not advocating for some multi racial coalition. I’m not advocating for “people of color” etc etc.

I’m simply saying it’s wild to see this type of propaganda really gain traction like this. And it has alot to do with society and tech.

Bless your heart champ. Like I said before…….this thread has been infiltrated…..as seen clearly above.

The fight shouldn’t be with illegals that don’t have any power or control anything, that’s how I see it …low hanging fruit to me

And Trump hase shown many times he doesn’t give a **** bout Chicago so those folks wasting their energy :lol

wavycrocket wavycrocket Honest question. Do we really expect folks in those conditions to NOT fall victim to "Divide and Conquer?"

Yes, WE (educated / at least semi-decent in the pockets) know that but for folks living through it how can we realistically expect them NOT to feel like it isn't them vs. ILLEGALS.

wavycrocket wavycrocket Honestly, a simple "Damn I get where they are coming from" or "I could see why they feel that way" type of acknowledgement before immediately dismissing their feelings and claiming it's the D&C playing out In front of us again.

I mean saying divide and conquer to people on the messageboard (that aren't IN the trenches of the situation) is doing what? We know what it is.

If a couple folks are hung up on me expressing frustration at watching "divide and conquer" work, let me apologize if that came across as completely discounting folks in a tough situation.

That said, I'm usually that way. I'm Furious Styles with it. Point to what's going on and tell you what's going on. Not say "Hey officer, I realize that you may not understand the problem, let me first off say I realize what kind of conundrum you may be in as a black police officer that has to ultimately chase and arrest black men"

No, I'd probably say the same thing - "Yeah there's a problem...shame you don't know what it is".

I'm older than all yall most likely. You kind of get used to things being rough around the edges, but you take the message.

Forget all the "infiltration" talk. We don't need to manufacture enemies in here. We're not all on exactly the same page but we all have the same end goal in mind, and that's why we post in here.

But yeah we can move past whatever outrage is left over me being indelicate with how I phrased the response to watching one marginalized group attack another when as has been stated, the fight is with the people who caused the problem and who are wealthy and chillin while we fight amongst ourselves.

Yeah okay. This so called “low hanging fruit” has quite a reach champ.

Still missing the point because you looking at what you’re being told to look at which exactly what you’re not supposed to do during a slight of hand. Yes, illegals are be bussed to sanctuary cities but WHO is putting them on that bus? REPUBLICAN *** TEXAS and tax payers are also paying it. What are these sanctuary cities supposed to do, send them right back? Tax payers will still be paying for it. Places like Texas are supposed to be the front line of defense, but instead, Texas is bee-lining them to these cities, over loading the system, knowing damn well most of them wouldn’t have made it that far and then pointing at Democrats like, “See what they’re doing!”, when in reality, they’re the ones breaking the system so they can use it for fear mongering. If they REALLY wanted to slow down illegal immigration, they’d help Mexico get of The Cartel instead of telling everyone they’re coming to take your jobs. “Our BLACK jobs.” No is supporting illegal immigration, we just not falling for the banana in the tailpipe. If you really been keep score, illegal immigration blew up in 2021, right YA BOY(you might as well just come on out and admit it now)decided he wanted to build a wall and have the people he wants to keep out build it. Its all good tho. Folks gon’ learn and we gon’ watch.

When you say Texas is supposed to be the front line of defense, what do you mean? Wouldn't that be a FEDERAL issue and not a state concern?
