Are u serious?
jthagreat put it best........"Em and Dre with the cosign?"![]()
You're in the state of denial...
Not even, you asked a simple question and I answered it, as a whole 50 got a big co-sign by SIGNING TO SHADY/AFTERMATH. If you can't seethat, then you my friend are the one that is in a state of denial.
That was one of the biggest bidding wars in hip hop history... All from 50's street buzz...
How do you know, were in the conference rooms when these figures werebeing thrown out to 50. We all know 50 had a huge buzzed based upon his mixtapes, but yet he ended up signing with Em and Dre. One of the best rappers ofall-time, one of the best producers of all-time. Talk about a winning combination champ, he had everything he needed to a have a big launch.![]()
So Shady & Aftermath > Def Jam??
No but at this timeframe in question for 50 Interscopeef Jam.
Jay Z/Roc A Fella's Def Jam cosign (courtesy of Irv Gotti) isn't a Em & Dre cosign??
Not even close to being one in the same simply cause more people know who Em and Dre are as opposed to Irv Gotti. Also, more a power standpoint Em &Dre>Irv Gotti. Now, do you wanna disagree with that??
And if 50's wasn't one of the biggest bidding wars, why don't you tell me who was??...
No you tell me, since he was involved in one of the biggest bidding wars ever. How much was offered to him and from which companies, since yougave the original statement. Or are you just throwing out random b.s. as usual my man. Nobody is trying to discredit 50 from anything, he signed to thewinning team and took full advantage, good for him cause alot of artists get signed to a winning team and end up not doing anything with their givenopportunity. Other artists, not many however, end up created their own winning team.

So Irv Gotti bringing the 3 artists (DMX, Jay Z & Ja Rule) that revamped the label means nothing then...
But Jay Z signing the people he signed makes him a genius... You've defended Jay's presidency, but you're downplaying Irv Gotti who brought Def Jam3 artists that went on to sell over 30 or 40 million albums... Come on
So that's how it works?? Give Jay Z credit when he doesn't deserve it, then not give it to others when they are deserving...
Dr Dre is a great producer, nobody will ever take that from him... Eminem is a great rapper... But there's no way you can compare what either one of themdid @ Shady/Aftermath to what Irv Gotti did for IDJ... He saved Def Jam (which is known as the "Greatest Hip Hop Label").... Created a brand inMurder Inc that had a impressive run from 98-04...
Aftermath was a label since 96... First 2 projects flopped pretty bad if you remember...

50 got somewhere around 800,000 signing bonus for his deal he signed (according to a Maxim article from 03)... Joe 3H from Capital (the same guy that tried tosign Kanye) brought 50 there but they where scared... Obviously 50 told his story about Bad Boy wanting him...
No but at this timeframe in question for 50 Interscopeef Jam.
What?? in 2002, with Def Jam having 8 or 9 multi platinum/platinum artits on their roster?? Look @ the IDJ catalog thread...
You're just willing to rewrite all history when it comes to proving your point...

Is there something in your STANism that doesn't allow you to tell the truth if it hurts Jay Z?? Come on fam...
Jay Z was riding coatails from 1989 till 96... There was no bidding war for him, Irv Gotti got Roc A Fella that deal @ Def Jam... This is sad...
You conviently forget that Fif was the most sought after free agent just off of his SELF MADE mixtape buzz even before he got signed to shady/aftermath?

have we forgotten Jaz-0? big daddy kane? puff, big, lil kim, foxy brown, irv gotti?
Which is why Jay signed with any of the aforementioned people you just mentioned correct??
you gotta be a complete ****** NOT to
sign him at that time....AND not to mention duke was already turning down deals before he saw da shady/aftermath deal.
Even with all that being said, 50 still was not signed/or didn't sign a deal until Shady/Aftermath came along. For all intense purposes before Em and Dreshowed interest, 50 Cent very well could have just remained a mixtape king and stayed that way for quite some time, similar to how Gucci Mane is.
50 was being black balled which makes it more funny that dude is honestly sayin 50 got more help than Jay...
You just proved my case with the statement in bold on who got more help, thanks champ.
Duece King is for some reason trying to downplay Irv Gotti's role, and the power & influence he had in the industry @ one point...
For all intense purposes in his role with Jay Z at the time, Irv Gotti would be considered a lobbyist. Irv Gotti isn't/aint as well known as Em or Dre. Now do you want to sit up here and tell me otherwise.
