Basketball Thread About Nothing

Come to Indiana play some real basketball and not that trash *** NC bball scene. So you don't call fouls when you get fouled on a shot attempt? Why wouldn't someone just foul you everytime you shot then?
They play jail ball a lot apparently

That's that veteran streetball savvy. Other tricks include;

1) Never admitting to touching the ball last before it goes out of bounds
2) If the ball does go out of bounds in the paint, always check the ball at the 3 pt. line and hope the other team just lets you have it
3) Yelling out "respect his call" when your teammate gets fouled and he doesn't call it.
4) Poke shooters in the stomach mid-shot
5) Tug on shorts/shirts during a pick/screen
6) If you're winning, chances are you'll be accurate with the score. If you're losing, you may round up your score a point or two while bringing the opponents down one.

If the other team ever disagrees with any of the above, have them shoot a 3 to prove it because "the ball never lies".

Nah, but seriously, I played yesterday and saw all these tricks being pulled in the course of the couple games I played :lol

:rollin

Real life

Screaming "and 1" is just a flex if you make the shot.

If you miss....it ain't a foul. It's a miss. If you do make, you're just saying you got the bucket despite the foul, and the game proceeds.

Is the Spalding TF-1000 and Wilson Evo ball still the best indoor ball?

Left my Wilson back home at my parents home in CA, so I'm looking to buy a new one.

the new spalding tf 1000 legacy isn't the same, it feels like an outdoor ball. not sure about the 'classic' but reviews aren't good for that either

I'd say the top indoor for sale now is the evolution, solution, baden elite, or the nike championship one

Okay, thanks for the insight...I'll look into the Nike Championship ball too.

I found an OG tf-1000 on eBay, but it's listed at $200

 yeah, right.

And1 just is a verbal acknowledgment that there was contact while in the act of shooting.

It is NOT calling a foul.

Play continues, if the shot goes in. Bucket. If the shot misses, whoever gets the rebound plays on

They're both equally easy. I see no difference.
It isn't about COUNTING, it is about a 3 PT shot shouldn't be DOUBLE the amount of points as a 2 PT Shot.

When you go by 1s and 2s, that is what you are doing.

DC must stand for Definitely Critical, because I would've gone the rest of my life without seeing pickup basketball scoring with that perspective :lol I get what you're saying and it makes sense, but it's not that serious to me.

And 1 means stop ball bc I called foul, now let's see if I make it but it won't count.
That's backwards. That's literally what and 1 is for. You call foul and make it it doesn't count. Thats y u call and 1 only when your sure it's going in.

Y'all right I'm tripping

If I get fouled I'm not calling it I'm just gonna let it slide. If it keeps happening I'm coming with the wild offensives

The worst is when the other team tries to call a foul on them when you've scored a point already.

I had it happen once when this overweight dude couldn't stand to lose and had to foul me hard. I drove in and still made the layup but fatso told me it didn't count cause he called a foul on himself saying he hit me too hard.

I'm going to start calling more fouls or purposefully pushing people onto the ground from now on.

This past weekend there were some short dudes, some college freshmans who hadn't hit their growth spurt yet, try and defend my friend by jumping onto his back like a bookbag every damn time. I'm talking about arms wrapped around his neck with his legs wrapped his torso funny business crap.

Had some other guy who got tired of getting blocked and out-rebounded by me start running at me full speed to push me out the way. Also a whole bunch of dirty plays like kicking my leg when I went for the pull up shot.

The dirtiest was this one white dude who purposefully jumped on my ankle when I was on the ground. The other one was this crunchy guy who almost looked purple couldn't believe I blocked him so on the fast break he clotheslined me when I had already released the ball for the layup.

What's also annoying is when people refuse to play a game because they say the NBA ball is too heavy/hard/slippery.

The people in the city of socal must have small hands cause I can palm it easily with either left or write

I don't understand this don't call fouls logic.

If it is a foul that impacts the shot, call ball

If the man is blantly hitting your wrist or doing dumb **** to effect your shot then of course.

But I'm speaking on the bull like if you get ripped, defense barely touches you and you turn it over so you gotta call foul.

Or you go in there soft and barely get touched and you miss the layup so you call it. Come on dog.

I mean fouls most of the time aren't blatant. So if somebody inadvertently fouls you on a shot you not calling it? I really don't understand your logic bruh

I understand don't call weak *** fouls. I'm all for that but you literally just were talking about not calling fouls now it's only if its "blatant" breh what . You sound like the ***** nobody likes playing against cause you probably foul and be like "That ain't no foul" knowing damn well you did

I literally can't and won't play in these situations. I usually just refuse to play because otherwise it's gonna come to blows very quickly and I'm entirely too old to be fighting over pick-up basketball.

Man, we legit started beefin with some ******, who were dirty fouling and snickering about it back in the day. I'm talking like on site, running down on em type of time :lol.

To be young, dumb, and reckless smh :{ :lol.

Yeah, I'm not risking any injuries if folks are playing that way. That isn't even basketball anymore.

It's dangerous playing with dudes who can't play. They can hurt someone or cause a fight. Main reason I don't run pick up too much these days. It's not even dirty play they just suck and play out of control.

Or even worse wannabe thugs bringing a heater to the court, making threats because they felt "disrespected". :{ Ruins it for everyone
