Asian Culture Discussion Thread

Poor people in any third world country will eat weird stuff. Wtf dude?

As a fellow Asian American, I can assure you that 99.99% of us don’t eat that lol

As for some Chinese people from a local Chinese village in China, well, the percentages are a lot less, but they gotta eat to live.

I don’t think posting a video of a group of Chinese villagers eating rodents represents our culture tbh.

Nah they can keep that in that village lol

I guess us city folks are too uppity for that rodent eating diet

But forreal though, Chinese cuisine is very diverse. Different regions got their special type of seafood and meats and style of cooking. You should search up on that instead of looking up a random group of Chinese people cooking rodents (gross!)

Don't rationalize for him. Other POC on NT don't tolerate the BS posts/topics, so why should we?

I don’t see where I rationalized for him. I simply said he should look up what’s real cuisine in China.

The bait is very obvious though. I could see where the “discussion” could have headed.

Dude has been talking slick about Asians for a few months now. I see him repeatedly posting about links between white supremacy and how Asians (all however many billions of them) as a whole promote it. Apparently a few white washed ones speak for everyone, as if every race on earth doesn't have sellouts. Wonder if he's gonna go into my family history now since I'm mixed :lol

Catching up on all my subscribed NT Threads and noticed I missed some action here. Someone please PM the name of the Offending Moron. Then I will be aware of who to be weary of in other Threads.
Serious request. Thank you.

Lost me starting at time mark 7:03 on. Gal talks about diversity blah blah, but if you really listen and look at where couple are, not true. Not seeing/hearing much interest in assimilation, immersion into American Life. Not good or bad, just what it is.

I would be in that older Second Wave and grew up in Midwest. Did live/work in SF Bay Area for almost a decade at beginning of 2000. Could see where you didn't have to interact outside of your Asian Community if you didn't want to. Could also feel different from everyone else because it's very emphasized. Just saying.

Speaking Chinese/Taiwanese cuisine...I still need to try Din Tai Fung. Finally saw the location in Costa Mesa and there wasn't a long line. But my wife wasn't interested...Dangit.

I feel you dawg, def feels like a bubble in the SGV at times, but in general the whole LA County is very diverse with different ethnic communities of Latinos, Asians, African American, white people, etc.
SGV is dominated by Asians, but there are a couple Latino owned businesses out here. I can say the entrepreneurial side out here is pretty dope.

I would get the beef noodle soup and the shrimp xiu mai on the first time

I think the one in Arcadia is much better.

The one in Glendale is booty tho.

I miss my Mama Lu's and Savoy :frown:

Arcadia is too far lol. I'll just go to the Costa Mesa location for convenience.
