As a kid, I hated it when my parents compared me to their friend’s kids who I grew up with. Even in my late 20s, they still do the same ****. 
Pops: “You should be more like her. You’re embarrassing compared to her.”
Me: “No thanks. She’s hard with the drugs.”
Pops: “At least her grades are high.”
Me: “She’s really not as responsible as you think.”
Pops: “I don’t care. You can do all the drugs you want, just as long as you bring home good grades.”
Me: “I had a really good GPA when I graduated from college!“
I don’t understand that logic at all
They always thought of me as inferior to her just because she likes to reads books as a hobby.
Like damn when I have kids, I’d never do that. **** really ****s with your self esteem.

Probably not tbh, but I heard it's a good rom-com. Some things about it stop it from sparking me to go see it, even though I'm prob being too picky and should just go support. The director also said there are apparently four Asian-American films hanging in development right now that will be green lit depending on the success of this film.

I don’t waste money on movies I don’t want to see or on people who call themselves awkwafina. Anyway, I saw some people already telling others not to see or support it just because of the movie title which is dumb (like that idiot fung bro on youtube who no one should listen to). Isn’t it made by ellen’s production company? Sexy Constance Wu and Michelle Yeoh are in it so that would be reason for some to watch.

Shoutout to Awkwafina, she came a long way from Bad Rap. I remember seeing her in Flushing a couple of years ago performing at the Flushing Night Out food event. I think her grandfather or great grandfather opened up Lum's in Flushing, old school chinese restaurant that was in the neighborhood years before Asians started to take over. Now that I'm 1/10 Asian I might have to go out and support this film.

this movie sounds like itll be wildly different from the animated film. cautiously optimistic it doesnt turn into a jumbled mess with these new characters + the original story.
