Are men intimidated by intelligent women?

Why would I be intimidated by an intelligent woman? One of the major characteristics I look for in women is intelligence. I personally think that conversation/communication is a HUGE factor in a relationship. I think where the line needs to be drawn is when women feel so intelligent that they become arrogant towards their male counterparts. I find it excruciatingly irritating when women feel the need to try and correct me about everything... especially when they're not even right about what they're correcting me on. I think that sometimes women feel the need to overcompensate intellectually in a world that is dominated by males.

However, I think that some males could be intimidated. In our society, at least in the society that young black males grow up in today, women have a powerful role yet not always the intelligent role (single mothers working multiple jobs). I know this isn't uniform throughout society, but I know that as a black male I've seen it happen many times. I believe that one of the reasons I didn't turn out the same was because my mom has always held the intellectual high ground in my parenting (college professor). What kind of men are you dealing with?

IMO mostly insecure men are intimidated by intelligent women because spending time with an intelligent woman can be a very humbling/eye-opening experience. I know I've been humbled many times, but I've noticed that it only attracts me more. I remember being very attracted to this one girl who wasn't drop dead gorgeous, still pretty, but was so articulate and intelligent that I couldn't keep my attention off of her. I was engaged with my eyes, ears, and brain.

From my perspective, if a woman is intelligent, I want to be around her because she will stimulate my mind and keep me sharp. I want to be around people who bring out the best in me, and, as a result, an intelligent woman already has a leg up on an ignorant one.

I also happen to be a janitor, while my girlfriend is a marine biologist. SRS. i love her intelligence and its always refreshing to have intelligent convos after spending the day with savages....

Intelligent women are a complete turn on for me. Even when it comes down to smashing, she has to at least have some CLASS. She doesn't have to be all book smart and know about worldly events and the such, but having some class about herself will at least tell me that she cares enough about her own hygiene and that's sort of a green light for me to smash. I can accept the fact that everyone isn't going to be as intelligent as I am, but I cant accept the fact that you're not going to be respectful, show the best manners you know possible, and keep good hygiene.

Guys that like to maintain a lot of control usually go for dumb women. They don't want them to think or do for themselves because they want to think and do for them, similar to how a pimp does. Personally, I like to keep a certain level of dominance in my relationships with women, but there's never a time where I'm telling a girl what to do with no options. She will ALWAYS have an option to do, or don't do. Stay, or go. Also, obviously, unintelligent guys will go for the unintelligent girls as well as the intelligent ones.

Yes. I guess you would have to be semi intelligent to understand that, though. A meeting of minds >>>>>>> physical attraction, but there definitely has to be a physical attraction to begin with. I'm just saying, I'll take a highly intelligent 8 over the dumb 10 any day.

I rather have an intellectual conversion with a girl than a lame conversation with someone who isn't. I'm sure most people would agree, it is very attractive.
