Yo, I just transferred universities and I'm a sophomore standing.
I'm studying for LSATs right now and.....

I'm pretty excited to start studying. I will let you know if my scores are above 150

. I think i'll mentally top out at 165 because I used a converter from my SATs to LSATs. We'll see.
Since I just transferred I'll have a new GPA, so i'm pretty pumped. It's kind like pumping steroids in my ego just thinking about getting into law school.

i am, but not for a few years.. i've been doing logic problems to prep for the LSAT but i'm not gonna start studying hardcore until i transfer.

First off LSAT and the SAT are two totally different beasts. Any converter you saw is not a good indicator of your LSAT potential so completely disregard that and study your #$% off. Secondly, the LSAC GPA (which is what the law schools use in their admission decision) factors in every class you've ever taken in college, even the ones you've taken twice. So you having a new GPA at your new school does not effect your LSAC GPA.

My sister got a 169 & she got accepted to UCLA & Georgetown.
She graduated from UCLA in 08.

I'm pumped! going to start reading the reading passages on LSATs instead of the current novels I am reading.

I'm goin to cop the Kaplan books off my mans for $70 when I get a chance. Since I'm movin to another state I have a year before I can claim residency for in-state tutition so that'll be the time I study. Took a practice one 3yrs ago and got a 155 w/o much studyin so I know I can do better

Nope. Doing hours of a paper-shuffling job to pay the student debt from law school is not something I envision myself doing.

I need to get on my LSAT stuff this next year while I'm in grad I really wanna go to law school

After i graduate im planning on taking half a year off and taking the Kapplan classes...have all my focus on that, and hopefully get in by 2011

Clearly you have no idea of the variety of jobs one can aquire with a law degree.

I'm sitting in June.

Have the Powerscore logic game book.

Trying to study and due tax season is kicking my !!!.

If you're thinking about it, don't. If you know its what you want to do, then do it. Law school sucks, and applications are up some 17% while job prospects have been substantially diminished.

Don't do anything Kaplan related, trust me. Go with blueprintprep.com. They're the cheapest and the best in my opinion. They got me scoring in the high 170's like it was nothing.

Not True. The competition is stiffer, but if you're amazing enough, you can get paid $3100/week as a summer associate as soon as the end of your first year, which can result in a $160,000/year job as soon as you graduate. The jobs are there. You just have to be mind-blowing and go to a top-ranked school.

^where do you go again? Boalt? I remember you saying it in another thread but I forgot.

I want a law degree for other reasons than working at a firm. If I decide to stay in Public Accounting I can parlay my CPA into the firm's genreal counsel, as well.

However, my Wife is starting her own business, so I can handle the legalities of the structuring, etc.

Some debt is worth it.

And how many people do you think fall into that category? Top 10% is not easy even if you're "amazing". Especially at a top tier school. And trust me when I tell you the jobs are not there like they used to be. Summer associates have had their spots deferred. Ain't nothing sweet in law school right now. Now more than ever its about who you know.
