Anyone have a 4k Ultra HD television? Help

krazyrodzilla krazyrodzilla Netflix’s 4K really doesn’t have a huge difference from 1080p. Amazon’s does. Try watch The Grand Tour, Season two on Amazon in 4K and see how that looks on your Q9. I t was a game time decision between that 82” Q9 and the 85” X900F for me. I picked them 900 F, lol.

Picked up an 85" Sony X900F. I love it. People, including myself, have been in absolute shock when seeing it. Not sure if I want to wall mount or keep it somewhat eye level on the stand. That’s a 70” wall mounted behind the 85”.

My man... mount it! I have the 85” X900F too but I mounted it and it’s downright sick!

I’ll try it out and keep you posted.

The 8K monitors are beautiful, but the 4K TV's seem to do a better job with the blacks. The major problem with 8K is that there is little to no content for them, and with HDR format wars still brewing between dolby vision and HDR/HDR plus, it will be a while before the right time to buy a 'complete' 8K tV that has all of the latest features in one package.

The difference between 8K and 4K is really not large enough to justify making the switch. I'm going to save my money and enjoy the 4K era/dolby atmos era in my home theater for the next 5 years before I think about upgrading.

I have the e7. I I haven't used its sound bar since I bought it. I use external supplemental speakers.

The e7 soundbar is definitely nice if all that you're used to is the native speakers of your previous HDTV.

Picture quality wise e7 is same as c7 and b7. Something I didn't know when I had got the e7 lol
Yes, this was the main reason that I opted for the B7, which is rated slightly better than the C7.

The E7 is still has the most beautiful build of all three IMO>

Thats the reason I got the B7 last year instead of the higher tier models. I have it paired with the LG SK9Y sound bar w/ rear speakers in the living room. Dolby Atmos + Vision content is a nice experience.

Trying to de-clutter plus I don’t watch that much TV in the bedroom. Figured the E7 at $1590 on Amazon offers the best price for performance for an OLED. Figure the embedded sound bar is worth the extra $100 over the B8.
The embedded sound bar would only be inferior to external supplemental speakers. If comparing to the typical built in speaker of an HDTV it's superior because HDTV speakers are weak cuz of how thin they all are.

Since you are used to your external speakers you might find the e7 speakers weak lol

You can some good deals but the summer is the ultimate best. If your close to FRys keep them on your radar and sign up for their email.

Roughly how much should I expect to spend if I wanted to have a professional calibration done?

I’m stationed in the UK and it cost me about £250 to get it done on my Q9FN. I would assume you could find it cheaper stateside though since there’s more competition there. Just make sure you take a look at their reviews and that they’re actually using the appropriate equipment.

Looking for a new tv. I always liked Samsung Tv but mostly always had LG
No big problems with my 50 that I had for like 5 years now.

Just want a bigger tv size.
All this 4K this q series that is hurting my head :lol

Netflix 4k isn't bad though, some of their content and the docs they stream at higher quality look nice, it was worth a rewatch of Altered Carbon

Budget... what size do you want... 55, 65... bigger?

Is it true that by the naked eye, you really can't see the difference between 4K or 1080p?

I surely can't...I can tell the difference from 720p and everything else.

Depends on the content and source of that content tbh. I see stark differences in some stuff and not much in others

no it's not true

you can definitely tell.

but it also depends on viewing distance/size of screen

I can very clearly tell the difference but a lot of people stream their content these days. If you don’t have the appropriate bandwidth then you’re not getting even compressed 2160p anyway. I have a UHD Blu-ray player and it’s about as obvious as can be to me.

Watched Birdbox (obviously through Netflix) and the Dolby Vision icon popped up in the corner of the screen once it started. Picture was amazing.
