man, i got lucky today and was able to scoop a pair today for retail thanks to my boy for the heads up....i guess being patient does pay off...anyways, i realized that xis are kinda like fitted hats, the size says they are the same but sometimes they feel bigger or smaller..i got a size 10 and they feel roomier than i expected being that my space jams, and cdp xis are 10.5. well, im happy and to those who are still on a hunt, in due time folks..don't get sucked into reseller prices..its hard though, i almost fell victim..

Everything else is about preference, do you sacrifice quality and comfort for blue soles?

I missed out on the Space Jam release and I wanted them to the point where I almost became a victim to a re-sellers price.
But I waited and waited, and copped 2 pairs for way under retail.  Patience is virtue.  And I gotta thank craigslist for that lol.
 
has anyone compared the icey blue sole from the different places they got the shoes from, the beforethedrop.com pair has a much more blue sole then the others

Pair on the left is from NDC...Pair on right is from Footlocker (Purchased in store)...Footlocker pair is much more bright blue while the pair from NDC is a more true "Clear" color...

I love the xi high top and have most of the CWs from the 2001, concord, DMP, red/black, cool gray. I bought 2 packs of CDP, sold them all right after, they are the worst out of all the XIs ever made. got the 09 space jam, try them on and they are super uncomfortable compair to my 2001, sold them the next day. As for the cool gray, they are the closest you can get comfort and look wise compare to my 2001 and thats the only recent 11 retro I will keep. Not complaining at all.
 
...is it weird that my size 10&11 fit perfect in these...but my size10 space jams r to tight even to wear around the house...

Doesn't matter. They're still 10 years old. You think the environment doesn't affect materials that sit over time? I've had XI's since 1995 and it doesn't matter if they're DS or not, they're going to fall apart on you because that's just the way it is. Besides, the 2010 CG's are just fine in terms of quality and comfort. Father time doesn't have mercy on anything. Just saying.

I think people think they get props if they have OG's and turn their nose up at the Retros, in reality no where cares...they are shoes not a house

BECAUSE THEY ARE DUDE! Yellow is yellow. End of story. why you shakin your head? U can lie to us but u cant lie to yourself man. Its just fact that 01 cool greys are mostly (maybe not all) but mostly yellowed except for pairs that have been sea glowed maybe. Hands down they are definetly yellow compared to some 10's. And for the record do your homework on them columbias. Cause OG columbias from 96' that came with the tinted blue sole yellowed way slower than other 11s. Seen a dude on youtube recently with og columbias. Soles still blue. Maybe not as icey or like new but still blue with no yellowing. OG Columbias have always been infamous for the patent leather yellowing. Look it up. Now the Columbia retro from the 2000's had the clear sole and them %+$%% yellowed before you could walk out the store with em. Not tryin to "flame" you man but do your research. IMO New icey soles, hell new shoes period, will always beat old shoes if you are trying to wear them and not just collect them. But F%$# it though man. To each as own. Cause with all that being said I wish I had some comfy 01 cool greys to wear on late night trips to walmart

The worst thing that can happen is the sole separates on the XI
pretty easy fix at a shoe repair shop.
