AIR JORDAN 3 BLACK CEMENT - NOVEMBER 23, 2024

Real quick how old are you?

Why do you hate JB?

Because according to this thread you should be happy and grateful with whatever shoe JB blesses you with and are being ridiculous if you think otherwise.
Why craft such a disingenuous argument? All anyone has done is set expectations. You ignored the 88 pair I posted with one ugly tongue and two tongues that don't match. You're acting like this is a new thing.

To bring back that McDonald's analogy you think there's any point in the history of McDonald's when you couldn't end up with them missing something in your order or pushing you cold fries? Would you be taken for a complete dummy if you said, "I really wish McDonald's was like back in the 90's with their great service and excellent cooking."? Yes, yes you would. And no one would take someone complaining about the quality of McDonald's seriously. The only difference here is that you hold JB to a standard far above a McDonald's. One that never existed.

Is it disengenious? Because that's literally y'all whole argument as to why people can't complain about QC on a retro?

How much has technology changed since 1988? Are we still buying cars with tech from 1988? Are doctors still using the same medicine from 1988? Unless you're argument is JB is giving us tongues that don't match in 2024 because they did in 1988 that doesn't hold any weight. Is Nike the same company in 2024 that they were in 1988?

I don't care about a few glue stains that happens, a dinged up box sure, but tongues that don't match and shoes with one being smooth leather and the other being tumbled is lazy. All we're asking for is consistency. These are still the best retro of the shoe but why do we have to pick through pairs to find a consistent one?

And why are we comparing McDonalds to JB? That doesn't make any logical sense when you consider the price point of each and their rank among their respective peers.

It makes complete sense. They're both mass produced, cheap products. Just because the price is marked up, people like you continually miss that it's not a high quality product and never was. And you miss that when you're pumping out a half million of anything worldwide, quality control will miss things. I might know a thing or two about how quality works since I've been a QA professional for going on 2 decades.

Quality control from Nike/JB is better than it was in the 80's and 90's. FACT. McDonald's sends millions of precooked burger patties to heat up in a microwave. You think none of those are nasty and should have missed the cut to reach any store? If you wanted a good burger you wouldn't be eating microwaved crap.

The most successful thing Nike ever did was convince oblivious fools that the product was of the same quality as MJ the player. You're getting a run of the mill, mass produced sneaker that cost about $10 to make. There are duds amongst the half million pairs that shipped worldwide. Anyone who knows a thing about quality control or production knows that a 1-2% fail rate on a product is within spec for many manufacturers. In the real world that equates to thousands of flawed pairs.

But yes, Nike is pretty much the same company as they were then, they've just scaled up. They aren't suddenly making hand-formed Angus patties from farm-sourced beef. Expecting that to change would be borderline ******ed.

Yes we can want better QC and voice that, but this stuff has been happening since the original runs. That's the reality. Don't think we're all sitting here saying we're happy with that.

I never said they weren't? But we have literally seen JB do better. We don't expect perfection but on THIS release that 1-2% fail rate is looking a lot higher.

You can pull up my posts from the WC3 thread from last year, I get it there will be mistakes and variances but on THIS release it seems like those mistakes and variances are popping up more often than previous ones.

Why is that a bad thing for people to point out? The colorway of the shoe being popular and iconic shouldn't absolve Nike from putting out a good product.

You're welcome to complain about whatever you want. That's most of the purpose of this site in 2024: a place to complain.

Many of us got great pairs and are quite happy. Many of us have also got trash pairs across many other releases while others got great pairs. But it's important to remember you're still buying fast food quality footwear. Expecting a fast food chain to improve on the Big Mac and make it look like the commercial cause you like it more than McNuggets doesn't change the reality that it's all mass produced trash and improving quality is never going to be the focus of companies pumping out mass produced trash

So yeah.....Take what JB gives us and be happy

There's two options: stop supporting a McDonalds level brand, or accept that quality has been and always will be hit or miss. Imagine being old enough to buy some wonky tongued 88's and still complaining about JB getting their quality together in 2024. It's beyond hilariously stupid.

I meant purchasing power, as in getting raw materials for cheaper on wholesale because of their massive order numbers.

Yes, I understand. But they can use their purchasing power to buy cheaper materials at a lower cost as well and make more profit. So while they can get a better deal on higher quality materials, they can make more margin by buying lower cost materials too. Unless they're both the same cost, the cheaper one will prevail.

Nike Canada charging $20 more than other Canadian retailers for these. SMH. Might not have a choice though, since Footlocker/Champs release is delayed up here.

You can’t comprehend analogies? People just have certain things they like in life. I personally don’t even eat McDonald’s anymore because I don’t care for quick burgers like I use to. But if I ever were to get the urge for one that’s where I’d go. Some people only like certain car brands. Some only certain electronics brands. I’ve personally only ever owned iPhones when it comes to smart phones. Why? Because that’s my preference. I’ve never even considered an alternative because I don’t care enough. It’s life.

I didn't say that, if it makes you happy and that's your preference don't let anyone tell you different. It's a completely valid point of view . My point of view is different, can it not be valid as well? I made a statement, you engaged, I am engaging back, we are having a conversation, is that not what a forum is for?

Odd is you trying to dictate someone else's level of happiness.
If that's what pleases that person, what does it honestly matter to you?

I'm only speaking on it from my perspective. We can't share different views? I said it's odd to me. I never said stop, or do something different. Whatever makes people happy they have every right to do it.
