Adidas ORIGINALS updates

asked my homeboy who got a free pair of pure boosts (manager at FTL) and he says to go TTS on these. At the same time I doubt him and think to go .5 size down but imma take it with a grain of salt tbh. going to the mall today to go and try out a pair and will report back later.

@Acebrigade, is 9.5 your TTS? Curious how the fit is in the toe when going TTS and how the width works at TTS.
I tried a 10 as well as the 9.5 which is my true size...10 was def too roomy. the 9.5 is really snug but not "tight." It's sort of like wearing a sleeve. I don't have wide feet and they feel good. BUT if you have super wide feet, it might be an issue

Thanks, dude. Repped.

is the upper material as flexible as the roshe upper? I can see my toes and stuff in roshes - wasn't sure if that was the same thing with the pure boosts. from the pics, the material looks "tougher" and less flexible than the roshe's

I think it might be similar to adidas techfit material, which if it is, it blows away roshe material. I can't wait to be back home and grab a pair, or two.

I can't speak on ROches, but it is flexible material. Sort of reminds me of an updated, thinner version of the Nike Presto upper. It's absolutely brilliant

Think Nike presto.

Also they should be at your local footlocker. Go try on/check them out

adidas originals battle pack released for world cup. I haven't been cared for the zx 5000 rspn silhouette or colorways recently released, but this version looks great - it's by far my favorite item the pack. It looks like a super comfortable mesh too. Other pairs are easy pass for me.

all shoes are currently up for pre-order at adidas.com - along with some soccer cleats from the pack too.

so I went to try the pure boosts today and I am mighty impressed. tried a size 9.5 (full size down from TTS)/ and a 10 and thought the tens were perfect so imo .5 size down would be good. the upper consists of a really thin, sturdy, yet breathable neoprene-like material. What I found surprising was how well the the toebox was keeping it shape without any sinkage.

some cons however was that I found the heel and the tongue to be somewhat digging into my feet. I asked one of the coworkers how his pair was holding up (FTL employees I guess got free pairs of boosts for promotion purposes...lucky bastards

) and he said he was having no problem with the tongue/heel.

as for comort...all I'm going to say is that it was instantly the most comfortable shoe I've ever worn. Immediately said "woah" right as I got up and walked around in them for a quick second. only way I can describe it is like walking on clouds as if that wasn't cliche enough. As soon as I hunt down a pair of LoM's, these are going to be instacopped for sure.

thanks for the mini-review!

2 questions:

1. does it seem like the soles will get worn down quickly? from the pics, it seems like there's only a thin layer of material separating the boost sole from the ground. Also, does the boost midsole get dirty easily? seems like it would be a hassle to clean if dirt gets into all the little crevices in the boost sole
2. were there a good amount at the store? Hopefully it's a wide release where we don't have to rush to purchase it this week or else have to resort to resellers

thanks!

these are just initial impressions so keep that it mind.

1. tbh  i though they had alright grip. on just regular floors it does just fine, but I will say they have less grip than even the roshe's for comparisons sake. As for the midsole imho I don't think they would be hard to clean. cleaning them with the usual soap + water/baby wipes would probably do the trick. However I'll say after bending and twisting the shoe i'll say the midsole feels "fragile," as in you get that initial "damn...yeah I better not **** this up." IDK how to describe it, but that's probably the closest thing I can say about the midsole.

2. I didn't specifically ask. If it's anything to go by I dropped by two malls, two different FTL's and a finishline and the two ftl's had them, as for what sizes were readily availble idk :(

thanks for the impressions! haven't gotten a chance to drop by the mall yet...yeah i was concerned about that thin layer on the bottom and how fast it may wear out before the boost material starts getting worn out as well.

thanks!

Photo print app for Flux's is gonna be bananas... create your own designs from your photos for the Flux uppers?!

Excited to do one but my first thought is price. Hopefully it's reasonable.
Same here, but with retail being $90 I can't see it costing any more than $140 at the very most? I mean the other miadidas customizations only cost around an additional $25 from the base price of the original shoe, although I'm sure this custom photo print process is more costly.

If it ends up costing $140 I'd gladly pay that for some custom photo print flux. Adidas has got something really big going for them here.

Forget about the price, I'm going to short-circuit trying to decide what pattern/photo to use!

I figured about the same as far as price. Even at a higher end of $140 they should be worth it. Time to crack open the old files from photography classes.

To be honest, I think the app is great in THEORY But once in hand I'm sure we will see that we have no idea what print we want on our shoes, I'm not a great photographer or designer so I guess I'm just speaking for my self. But I think once released we probably won't like it so much..... Specially because that means they will be mass produced.
