ADIDAS BBall Boost Thread - BYW, Crazy Explosive & Crazy Light & OTHER BBALL ADJACENT SNEAKERS

Release date?

The release date is TBD, however, it shouldn’t be far off as the shoe is available for purchase at adidas NYC now. The price is listed at $150 so make sure you save that holiday money.
150$ :{

If you go to the Adidas UK site, they have the Nick Young PE CLB2016s up for £94.95, which equates to about $118.57usd. So maybe retail on these will be $120.

I love my PK CEs, but after this pair I might steer away from them. Translucent outsoles for me personally can never hold up and I usually end up getting a voucher from the manufacturer. May just be my play style but I burn through that rubber like it's nothing.

Got D Rose 7 myself. More cushion better traction and ankle support, but explosives have better fit and feel lighter. I got D Rose 7 because if the traction and ankle, but if fit and lightness is more important to you go with explosives

Thanks bro!

I got my hands on the Xeno version of the Crazy Explosives, by chance can you (or anyone) comment on the Xeno's vs the Prime knit? Or am I splitting hairs at this point.

EDIT: Okay so I tried the D Rose 7 Primeknits, I thought they were AWESOME but man, too much space in the toe box.

On the other hand, I tried on my Xeno Crazy Explosives and think they're perfect all around, although I wish they'd be tighter around the ankle. I think the weird lace setup has to do with this but otherwise, very good shoe.

I think I will be keeping the Xeno's because of how comfortable they are. Sorta feels like a low top but with the structure of a high top. Might sound bad to some, but I personally can't play in low tops, so this is sort of the best of both worlds for me, if that makes any sense.

Still wondering about the Xeno material vs the Primeknit version but I think I'm overthinking it.

Anybody in NYC willing to copp Swaggy P crazy lights and ship em to Los Angeles? If you can help out please let me know. Thanks!

got these super quick, really happy with the CLB16, should make for good beaters and that traction is just A1

the DRose7 uppers on the other hand, what a terrible idea to make them with EMs and whatever that crunchy material they put underneath it, should have just stuck to the jacquard upper

top laces should been made to go through the whole cushion instead of just a strap outside, lockdown would be much better

Personally, I don't think this PK upper is going to make that much of a difference. Yes it will hug your feet better but I don't think it will fully eliminate the heel slip. It is because of the way they designed the heel area where it is stretchy. That and there isn't enough padding on the heel to really keep your heel from moving around as you walk. I took out the plastic lace protectors on my non-PK CLB16 and I was still getting heel slippage.

Just saying, there are better alternatives out there. (Although this is me speaking without having experienced the PK version)

If someone is gonna do it, it would be the Sole Bros. They'll do/review anything for views

LOL, I like some of their stuff but they do seem to be scraping the bottom of the barrel with some of their vids.  Can you play basketball in UBs and crap like that.  Surprised they haven't done flip-flop reviews yet. :rollin

Watched their "What's in your bag?" video and was like nope :{

They just recently passed 100K subscribers too. Meanwhile there's Jahronmon sitting at 37K subs. Think about that.

I wish Jahron put out more videos with the same video quality he does with his reviews.

And as for the Sole Bros., I wish they would actually educate themselves about the shoes BEFORE recording the videos. Because more often, they make videos without having a plan on what topics they want to talk about and so they end up being so off topic. So random, no structure and very uninformed. You'd think that as "reviewers", that they would actually have knowledge to share but more often what happens is that they either guess or just say they don't know.

These two channels I feet are two complete opposite of the spectrum that I wish they incorporate THE GOOD things each other are doing on their videos.

Ok yea Jahron kills it, but look how often he posts videos. I watch Sole Bros every day, twice a day. I appreciate that they stick to the schedule because they could post vids 1/4 as often as still have a ton of videos.

Also I feel like they give the normal guy perspective. Jahron is too good at ball for me to compare our tastes in sneakers lol.

Yea I appreciate the sole bros for what they are. Sure they definitely could research more before shooting. It hurts when they don't even know the pricing of the shoe, but it's always great to get multiple people's perspective on a shoe. Also love that they have daily content. Don't care too much for some of their series, but it's cool that they put it out.

lol sole bros a complete joke. twinks. that white dude is useless and rarely adds anything to the video. the asian dude should just go solo and make his own vids.

Don't know anything about sole bros or tons of other reviewers for that matter.  There's something out there for everyone though.  For me, I look at sources I'm more in line with.  I want value and substance over hype.  For example, I detest story telling traction patterns that don't work.  Keep all of those marketing gimmicks and ploys, I just want good traction, cushioning, fit and support.

Something to keep in mind on these forums:  When someone posts some feedback, usually you don't really know their age, playing style, preferences, conditions they play in and so on.  When I see someone post something I think is crazy, the first thought I have is how old he/she is.  I ain't trying to bicker with some 16 year old whose mom is doing his laundry.

So it's really about trying something for yourself more than anything.  I personally think we spend way too much time researching and not enough time actually playing, training or working out.  We are always looking for that extra edge, but at some point it's more about you than the shoes you wear.

Sammy used to be solo. I do wish Donny would add more, I always find his advice to be more helpful to me than Sammy.

IMO shoe of the year performance wise hands down, looking for that green xmas pair to drop... any word on a Porzingis PE dropping?? [emoji]129300[/emoji]
Nice man, how's the white holding up? Too clean.

More like, any word on the CE low dropping??

This, all day. I think back to pre-Professor K and how I would go in a store, try it on, buy it, and rarely did I have a problem. Now I evaluate every little thing and worry about a little slip or moment in the heel and if the materials are proper.

Agreed.  I remember when we would just play and "make it work" haha, especially if we loved the look of the shoe!

I played most of my teenage basketball in early Jordan retros and Timberland boots. Dead ***.
