ehhhh first shots I’ve seen with the light laces … I think I prefer the dark.

This is a color I would have liked to see more of in use on this shoe.
Smoking jacket ruby red. Plush Chaise lounge red. A deep and rich burgundy color on a tie or a suit.
But as is, the brown just feels pedestrian. The salmon hits just feel pink and like raw meat rather than the Neapolitan I think they were going for. I love AMM stuff. Just feel like these are an iteration on the way to something great but they ran out of time to keep trying out new color mixes.

I agree that the colorway isn't coming together, but I disagree about moving more red. I think that had they leaned into brown as much as they did into purple for the first 2 4's, it would have been a much more wearable shoe. Darker brown backtabs and netting, replace the tired purple with that darker brown and do something -anything- with that orphaned bit of light-colored midsole. Including the light laces doesn't make its use any more coherent.

I loved that purple so much on the first 3's enough that I was drawing boxes on the side of the road, but enough is enough. I have an embarrassing number of their shoes and 4's are my favorite J, but it was easy to save my money on this release.

I'm hoping they release on SNKRs or are available later. Every year some late release stresses me out during the holidays, if it gets left out while I'm traveling for the holidays. Not this year, I refuse to buy anything until I get back.

And cave stone shape is more like the other recent 4s. These are a diff mold; you can see the overall slant and the mesh shape in particular. It's OK, but not preferred.
