I'm sorry but this is just some ignorant crap. Just because someone is "blastin beatles music" means their not important? That's like saying well since no one talks about James Madison, his life his meaningless and that he's over-rated as a founder of this country.
You don't have to like the Beatles to appreciate John Lennon but know your history. The Beatles changed the music industry and the way music was viewed. John Lennon fought to end the Viet Nam War and the oppression of women, among other things. I'm sorry that they were singing about how much money they had or how many women they banged but those guys saw music as more than a way to make money. They explored and pushed the art form, made political statements, and searched for spirituality. Music today exists under the groundwork that the Beatles layed out. Name someone in the music industry and they were probably influenced by the Beatles in some way. Know the facts.

Don't know about you, troll. But we're living in different eras of music. Jay Z is a lot more modern than the Beatles were. The Beatles made one of the biggest impact in music, PERIOD. I'm not sure if Jay-Z's influences in music are the Beatles but some of his influences have been inspired by the Beatles and more specific, John Lennon's solo gig. I'm not knocking Jay-Z at all but your statements are in fact ignorant.
Aside from the Beatles, John Lennon's lyrics/music inspired plenty of artists and people to have a central idea of harmony. So if he was alive, he WOULD in fact still be important.
Granted, our society is far from a peaceful one but imagine if he was still alive. Would he have protested in a more direct and more firm manner? Maybe society would have been changed because of this man. Who knows. His life was ended when he was 30 or whatever so we will never know how it would have been.
