I had been lurking Darius' site, which was known as "Alcatraz" for disruptive Niketalk users, for a few weeks. Someone dropped a link to General, for years I'd only ever participated on two other forums since the World Wide Web became available to the public.
Although I was surrounded by people who were internationally famous, popular, or even local superstars I felt like Niketalk was "my crowd".
After several screen names, internet meltdowns, bans from virtually every admin, and just personal growth as grown man I finally understood it wasn't meant for me to be "popular" or necessarily liked on Niketalk, it was meant for me to be more.
I've been here for almost a decade, and witnessed most of the "classic" events, I've exchanged numbers with users likeSara Weekend Girl, and we've talked for hours.
Till this day I'm unsure on what compelled her to talk to me, I've always suspected her of being a troll, or a girlfriend or female family member of a troll. However, no foul or harm ever came to me or my personal security, or identity. There was even a video of us on the phone together in an extravagant apartment during my hedonistic youth.
I've overcome a lot, too much to go into detail on Niketalk...seriously. I've never been to a summit, never hung out with any users (except one who ended up at my house before I knew he was on Niketalk, and he can tell you I'm far from poor). Never participated in Secret Santa, or been part of the 'in-crowd". But Niketalk has always been there for me in a weird way, and @Methodical Management has access to SOME of my personal information—and no matter how many times I ****** up and lashed out, threw fits I was always accepted back here.
Just wanted to say thanks Meth for being there. It's hard to admit even as I type. But I'd honestly don't know what I'd do if I typed in Niketalk in the URL and it was gone.
Thank you for always being there and being patient. When the time comes, the proper introduction will be made, and financial contributions will be donated, I just hope it's soon.
Thank You Niketalk.
