(7-9) Miami Dolphins 2010 Season Thread: WE SUCK! THANK GOD IT'S OVER!!!

Yeah... Marsh acted like an idiot but Henning was an even bigger idiot. Fade to Hartline? Dude is like 4 inches shorter than Marshall...

Chad, got an email from you know who. Here's the latest:

Wake is Ok and will not miss anytime

Henne's injury might not be as bad as feared & might be back in 2-4 weeks. That's why only 1 QB was signed to the 53 (things could change)

Good stuff.  We certainly need Wake to get after that Bears OL.

And if we can somehow find a way to pull this game out, we get 10 days before our next game, that should help some guys get a little healthier.

We need to get this win.  Somehow some way......

We signed Patrick Ramsey if I'm not mistaken ..... and yea just like you said H23 Henne should be back in a matter of weeks.... Penny however is a pretty sad situation ...

^
Agreed, without him our pass protection is gone, our run blocking suffers, our whole offense will be even worse then it has been.  (if that's possible

And with Peppers coming to town, now is not the time for Jake to not be right.

Precisely. I'm hearing they don't want to move Carey... so it's MURTHA or McQUEEFSTAIN. Oh man. Good thing Thiggy is mobile.

Five things to watch: Bears at Dolphins
November, 18, 2010 By Kevin Seifert: The Chicago Bears are hoping to extend their winning streak to three games Thursday night at Sun Life Stadium. Here are five things to watch in anticipation of their matchup against the Miami Dolphins:

1. One for the record books? A victory would give the Bears their 700th regular-season victory in team history, the first franchise to reach that milestone. (The Green Bay Packers are next on the list with 660 franchise victories.) There would be something karmic about doing it in Miami, the site of their only loss of the 1985 season and also where they lost Super Bowl XLI.

2. Miami's run game. With No. 3 quarterback Tyler Thigpen making his first start in two years, the Dolphins figure to rely heavily on running backs Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams. The Bears have been vulnerable to long runs this season, having given up an NFL-high 11 runs of 20 or more yards. But the Dolphins have broken only three runs of 20 or more yards, tied for fifth-worst in the NFL. As good as Brown and Williams are at grinding out tough yards, they might not be equipped to capitalize on the Bears' vulnerability against breakaway threats.

3. Wounded prey. Dolphins left tackle Jake Long is listed as questionable because of a shoulder injury. He's expected to play, but you would think the Bears will put defensive end Julius Peppers in position to test Long's agility at the outset. Thigpen is relatively mobile, but there is nothing worse than starting a game with concerns about whether your left tackle has all of his faculties. Thigpen, by the way, is an aggressive downfield thrower who will have to guard against the trap of the Cover 2 defense. The Bears have given up an NFL-low three passes of 30 or more yards this season. Thigpen will need the patience of a veteran to avoid throwing downfield interceptions.

4. Run-pass ratio. Including quarterback scrambles, the Bears have run the ball more than they have passed in each of their past three victories. It's hard to imagine them winning Thursday night if that ratio is reversed. The Dolphins have the NFL's sixth-ranked pass defense, holding opponents to a 58.4 completion percentage and a bit more than 200 yards per game. They also have 23 sacks. Quarterback Jay Cutler got much better protection last week against the Minnesota Vikings, but the Bears shouldn't push it.

5. Night fright. Strange things happen to Cutler at night. Last season, he threw five interceptions in one night game, four in another and a total of 13 interceptions in five. On a Sunday night earlier this year, he was sacked nine times in the first half by the New York Giants before departing with a concussion. Thursday night, Cutler could be without one of his favorite crutches. According to ESPN Stats & Information, Cutler has thrown the second-most screen passes (31) in the NFL this season. But the Dolphins' defense has been especially adept at stopping those plays. Opponents are completing just 55 percent of screen attempts against them, by far the lowest mark in the NFL. The Washington ******** rank second at 71 percent. We'll see if Cutler can get through a night game without one of his favorite plays.

Tyler @#$%^&* Thigpen huh?  Yeah, you guys like Tyler Thigpen?
indifferent.gif

Good idea guys.

This coaching they are doing is @#$%^&* mindblowing.

YOU ARE WITH YOUR THIRD STRING QB AND YOU HAVE SIX RUSHING ATTEMPTS FROM YOUR TWO STARTING RUNNING BACKS???????????????

What the blue @#$% is this third string QB, with the third string Center doing in the God damn @#$%$#@#$%^ shotgun?  WHAT @#$%^&* FOR!!!!!!!!!!!????????????

I don't care who is injured, you RUN the God damn ball 3 straight plays if you have too.  Two tight ends, full back, whatever you want, you pound the ball to at the very worst get 2 minutes for your defense to breathe.  That defense is out there fighting by itself tonight.  They showed up to the game alone.  And it shows.  They get stops on first and second down like nothing, come 3rd and long, conversion, every single drive.  These guys are dead tired after this pathetic performance.

But yeah guys, Chad Henne isn't worth a damn.  Noooooooo, not at all.  Let's get Tyler Thigpen in the game, he'll make the plays.
indifferent.gif

Brandon Marshall, thanks for showing up and dropping a couple nice passes and getting yet another penalty for God only knows what reason.  Then taking the rest of the game off.  Good job big guy.
sick.gif

Marshall was having a real long talk with cutler after the game ...
grin.gif

but anyways tuff loss ..defense came to play like CP17 said offense was atrocious thigpen you made me look bad defending you

but we will regroup for the 28th

This is the Tyler Thigpen you all so longed for, this is the guy that could do a better job than Henne? Give me a $%%!!$$ break you guys really like to talk of of your *#!+% sometimes.

Slow down chief. Dan Marino would've crumbled under those circumstances yesterday. A one armed LT? A LG playing C? A 3rd string LG? Give me a break, not to mention 7 rush attempts.

THIS 10000000000%

Thigpen didn't stand a chance last night and anyone with half a Brain would realize that.

7 rushes? 7 RUSHES!?!?

Some serious coaching changes need to be made NOW!

I didn't ask for Thigpen to give me a Mike Vick performance, but I DID ask for him to I dunno, get 2 first downs ON THE SAME DRIVE.
grin.gif

I don't give a @#$% about excuses of injuries, every damn team has them, bottom line, we couldn't get 10 yards a drive.  Couldn't.  Say whatever the hell you want about Henne, the guy can AT LEAST get in field goal range.  (yes, that sucks that's the best we can hope for, but at least it's points)
laugh.gif

It doesn't matter, Thigpen is not the answer, he just isn't.  It was PAINFULLY obvious last night.

That said, I spoke in the game thread and a lil bit in here as well on the coaching.  Once again, these @#$%^&*&^%$#@ have no God damn clue how to call a game.  Opening kick, 50 yard return.  First play, 9 yard screen pass to Bess.  Next play, first down run of 3 yards by Brown, hey right there off the bad we are in shape to put points on the board and take the lead at home.  What do we call?  A reverse stupid @#$ trick play with our third string QB handing off to our #2 WR.
sick.gif
What happens?  Of course we @#$% it up, drive over.  The stupidity of that drive is beyond reason.  After that first down, even if you simply turn and hand off to Brown who runs straight into the pile 3 times, you at worst have a chance at a 50 yarder from Carpenter.  And hey, if Brown actually gains yards, well then guess what, you have a drive going.  But no, third play of the game, we go to trick plays.  And not even the semi-regular ones we use in the wildcat where at least we have our weapons handling the ball and making the decisions.

All around, ridiculous set of circumstances by our offensive "brain" trust.

I have no problem saying, "hey, Thigpen only had 3 days to get ready, fine, ok, no prob, whatever"  One problem. His record is now a whopping 1-13.  ONE and THIRTEEN.  He is not Tom @#$%^&* Brady come to win 3 Super Bowls for us, there's a reason he is 1-13 guys.

Henne is the best QB we have at the moment.  Maybe not a franchise guy, maybe he doesn't win the Super Bowl next year, but he is not the problem.  FAR from it.  He had his flaws, he needs to work, but moving around and shuffling QB's won't do a damn bit of difference to fix our team.  Right now, Chad Henne at least gives us a "chance" to win games.  Thigpen gave us ZERO chance last night.  None.  Not even a glimmer.  Henne had the lead at half vs NE.  He had the lead late vs the Jets.  He had Pitt in his crosshairs damn near down to the 2 minute warning.  He was one yard away from a halftime lead vs Baltimore (which he screwed up, I realize that)  There it is, he keeps us in games, gives us a chance.  Thigpen?  Couldn't do something as simple as get 2 first downs on a single drive.  I don't care about 3rd string centers, you can still get 2 first downs on a drive over the course of 60 minutes.  Yeah, that didn't happen though.

But sure, keep riding the Thigpen will give us a spark vibe

Dude I don't think anyone is saying Henne is the down fall of this team. I too think he's the best QB on our roster. BUT, you're crazy if you think Thigpen was the reason why we put a goose egg on the score board.

Like finns said Dan Marino prolly wouldn't of done much better last night under the same circumstances.

Last night was 100% on the coaching staff and the plays that were being called.

im surprised they didnt play Ramsey at some point. i didnt get to see the game but did they even line up in the wildcat at all? atleast to show Chicago something different. this should have been the game Ricky and Ronnie break out.

i had such high hopes for this season after bringing in Marshall and Dansby and Henne finishing strong last year. theres still time to make it happen but 5-5 isnt too flattering with the Pats and Jets playing winning football.

think Feidler would come back?

How many over throws you see last night?

How many tipped passes?

How many times you see him fake, pump, hesitate, hitch hitch, fake again, hitch again, pump again, go down?  And that was WITH the 7 times he actually did scramble.  He coulda ended up with 15 rushes if not for all the jerkin around he was doin back there.

Admittedly, Marsh had 2 drops on him that hurt, granted.  That doesn't make up for the other 10 plays where he had ZERO idea what to do with the ball.  Other then hold it while he got his dumb @#$ sacked.  And that was with a make shift O-line too.  They gave him time to make throws, he didn't know who or where to get the ball too quick enough.

But yeah, we can't put that all on him.
eyes.gif

Playcalling sucks, we all know that, coaching sucks, we know that, but at some point, players are other there for themselves, they have to make plays themselves, either throw the @#$%^& ball outta bounds, or take off, one or the other, not pump, hitch, juke, hesitate, stutter step, stagger, pump again, hitch, pat the ball, boom sacked like he did all night last night.  And if you think I am exaggerating, watch the game again.  If I have enough time to sit there and yell out "THROW THE DAMN BALL"  then you're takin too long back there.

How many thrid down conversions last night?

Marino RIGHT NOW, coulda got us 3 points.  @#$%. I prolly coulda got us at least 3 points.

All i'm saying is you can't get rid of the ball any quicker if nobody is even close to being open because the Bears could play the pass every %%!!@@ down.

Like I said Thigpen didn't have a chance.
