From what I hear, Christian Bale does one hell of a job in The Fighter. I heard he has the best supporting actor award on lock.

And I never get into the Golden Globes. I always think the Academy Awards are better, but then again, they gave the Hurt Locker the best picture which is bogus.

Bale went through a hell of a transformation for his role.. so I think it's deserved. Georffrey Rush looks like he did great in The King's Speech as well though, so I'm not sure who will take it since I haven't seen either. TKS looks really good though, lots of buzz about it.

MOST definitely.  It really sucks that he won't be able to go for a 4-peat at the Emmy's next year due to the show airing in June.

The Golden Globes are a joke. How do you nominate two AMC shows but neither is Breaking Bad? Walking Dead is nice, but Breaking Bad $#+@$ on it. And Best Actor in a Comedy.

But yea, there was a thread a couple months ago about '07 being a great year for movies especially compared to this one. So disappointing.

The idea is, just about every single week past February in 07, you could see a new movie and not be disappointed.

Skipping all 'hard to debate for' bad movies like Pirates 3 and Spider-man 3, here are the good to incredible movies of '07 that you could make an argument for.

06 leftovers - Children of Men, Pan's Labyrinth

January - Alpha Dog, Smokin Aces

February - Breach, Reno 911: Miami, The Lives of Others

March - Black Snake Moan, Zodiac, 300, I Think I Love My Wife, Shooter, The Lookout

April - Grindhouse, Disturbia, Fracture, Hot Fuzz, Vacancy, The Condemned

May - Waitress, 28 Weeks Later, Bug, Once

June - Knocked Up, Ocean's Thirteen, 1408, A Mighty Heart, Live Free or Die Hard, Ratatouille, Sicko

July - Harry Potter 5, Rescue Dawn, Sunshine, Simpsons Movie, you can make an argument for the 1st Transformers

August - Bourne Ultimatum, Superbad, Death at a Funeral (original one), The King of Kong

September - 3:10 to Yuma, In The Valley of Elah, Shoot Em Up, Eastern Promises, The Kingdom, The Darjeeling Limited, Into The Wild, The Assassination of Jesse James

October - Michael Clayton, Gone Baby Gone, Dan In Real Life, Before the Devil Knows You're Dead

November - American Gangster, No Country For Old Men, Beowulf, The Mist, The Diving Bell and the Butterfly

December - Juno, Atonement, I Am Legend, Charlie Wilson's War, Sweeney Todd, There Will Be Blood, The Orphanage

Terrible movies are guaranteed every year. So are disappointing and great movies. Oscar bait isn't supposed to be watchable. There weren't too many best of the decade movies, but you could've talked your people into going to the movies any week, all year. That never happens.

compare it to this year

09 leftover - Avatar, Sherlock Holmes

January - Youth in Revolt, Book of Eli

Februrary - Shutter Island, The Ghost Writer

March - Alice In Wonderland, Green Zone, Hot Tub Time Machine

I'm still looking forward to seeing the December movies, but this year was not about it. Even a lot the 'good' movies weren't that great like Others Guys, Salt, Scott Pilgrim or Machete.
My favorites were Kick-#@!, Greek, Inception and Let Me In. I really hope Black Swan lives up to the hype and next year's movies are better than this one.
