Yea, I was def leaning towards a CC company's flight card and not a specific airline or something. The BoA seemed decent since I bank with them and you get the 10% bonus or whatever based on your checking and savings amounts and stuff.
Definitely going to look more into the Chase Sapphire one though
Edit:
Now I remember that card as I look. This is the one with the $450 annual fee! :x
Granted me and the wife have 2 weddings next year...one in Brazil and 1 in Mexico. Between the points and $300 credit on the statement and 3x dining points....it might just be worth it.....and then cancel it after a year
Maybe I will just roll preferred and not reserved
You'll get WAY more value out of the reserve. But if you're going to get one and cancel after a year probably get the preffered, earn the 50k bonus then get the reserve. Product change the preferred to a freedom or freedom unlimited then meet the spend for the reserve. That's 150k points right there that will be worth $2,250 in flights/hotels through the ultimate rewards portal. Not to mention if you used the reserve on flights to meet the spend you'll get $300 of that back through the airline credit and you earned 3x points on travel/dining. So you'll come out on top earning at least $1950 if you did that.
