2026 MLB Season Thread

Also Nike is implementing a 4+1 jersey rule all MLB teams, so some teams will be forced to drop a jersey. It's basically Home, Away, Alt 1, and Alt 2 jersey + a City connect. It looks to be phasing out grey road uniforms. For example:

I believe the Rays are losing their grey jersey as well.

^ Baseball/MLB is missing the mark with that rule. I don't think it needs to be as OD as the NBA with uniforms, but with so many games in the season, it's just a fun little addition to the norm. It's ultimately not a big deal, but I didn't see a rationale behind it in that article only that it's Nike and MLB instituting the rule.

MLB has done some great things like broadcasts with players mic'd up, the field of dreams and LLWS games...gotta keep the uniforms fun and it pays homage to history as well with the various throwbacks and such. Whatever though....

Hoping I can secure some good seats this season to bring my daughter to her first baseball game. I was considering bringing my son, but knowing him he'll end up on the field.
