We have the best medicals, we better have the best idea of anybody about him, but I don't want another team's damaged goods once we know they themselves are unwilling after what they saw.
If Cohen was able to disregard first seeing the medicals and snatch him up on an all-time impulse buy -- after hearing about the Giants own skepticism, but not caring -- he was showing the Mets love of him was unconditional. But all of a sudden, it became conditional. The NYM do their own medicals on him, and now they want to nearly back all the way out/force him into a significantly reduced price or else.
Concerning. The Giants and Mets newfound trash is not our treasure, and I wouldn't want to be the one he gets to settle for, as if we should just be lucky to have him. We need to be smarter than those sorts of organizations since we'll always start from a shorter stack of chips.
