One of my friends keeps trying to tell me I could have bought this or that with the money I've spent......

He's my best friend, but he lives in his workshop and he owns NOTHING.... rents his place, making payments on his truck

I bet I've spent less on my shoes than he has spent on cigarettes

Makes me sad, some of the choices he's made in his life....

He will be with me at my table at the Htown Sneaker Summit... I just got a table so he can try to sell his woodworking skills.... AKA custom sneaker storage! lol (plus gets me in early AND gives me a place to sit)

One way of looking at it is that we all have our vices. Just depends on what you spend the dough on. But there's no denying that the money spent is "wasted" in a sense. With the money I've spent in the past few years on kicks alone, I could have saved up to put a down payment on a house (no joke) and I'd be better off with a house than having bought hundreds of pairs of kicks haha

Meh... I don't think so. Disgusting is in the eye of the beholder. I think Civilists are disgusting (NTSB GO OFF!!!) and obviously he finds that colorway (or maybe even the silhouette) to look disgusting. Not everything has to be a gender/race/sex issue.

Those Jordan ones made for girls are disgusting. But the Leroy smiths made for made were just as bad. Sex has nothing to do with it.

True enough ... And if sky-highs weren't specificlly a women's shoe I'd take the comment as someone having a visceral reaction to the silhouette (or colorway).

i have a certain amount of space and when i start to overflow i usually go over my collection to see what i can get rid of that i no longer like or if i have any double ups I can live without.  this usually trims me down to a respectable level. If i start to overflow the wife starts to notice and get the annoying comments lol

i usually that the money from selling into other vices... an old expensive sports card or maybe a TV.  I have 2 jordan rookies from selling off my DS and used foams little bit over year ago.
