When I say that I don't like resellers, I feel that it's a complicated thought that saying a 4 word sentence doesn't cover properly.

I don't like resellers that buy up everything new and hot in an effort to pump the price up as high as they can and flip it, it artificially inflates the price of a shoe if the only people getting them are some guy that knows the manager or shows up with his family to buy every pair available and then turns around to sell it on ebay other markets for an unreasonable price.

I don't mind the guys that buy stuff and end up sitting on it for years, it takes a special kind of dedication to devote the space/tie up money for a long time and potentially not make a real profit years down the road.

An example: I'm a big fan of Parra as an artist, and I really wanted the AM1 he did with Patta, but because they only released at like 2 shops and 1 of those shops seemed to do everyone dirty by selling them to a small group of people, the price shot up to $1000 within hours of the shoe selling out. I still don't think they're worth quite as much as they go for, but at least now it's years later.

That's a far cry from the quantities and types of releases to which people try to apply the term nowadays.

Word..my feelings exactly. Just like these SOMP's, how many pairs out of the limited batch were resold? Who knows, but for such a plain shoe it was surprising to me that I struck the hell out.

Corgi is a friend, and one of the most honorable people in this whole hobby. Gusto is a great dude too. I'm friends with the owners of Image, and I consider them good dudes. All these people are actually part of the culture, and contribute positively to it, not just through product, but knowledge, history, etc.

Meanwhile, there are plenty of retail spots that are shady as hell, provide poor customer service, and are really just out to make a buck off the culture.

Further, I've personally re-sold. I'm not really the type to buy up size runs of new stuff and put it up on ebay. But, when I sell old stuff that's now highly desired, I'm not selling it for box price - sorry.

Finally, for those of us who have more of a vintage taste, the secondary market is really our only outlet.

All these people are actually part of the culture, and contribute positively to it, not just through product, but knowledge, history, etc.

That's it exactly, I don't mind paying the going rate on something that's vintage, I'll do the courtesy of not wasting a person's time lowballing or begging for box price if I'm trying to get something that's 15-25 years old. I'm not going to pay double/triple an already over priced pair for something that's only a few weeks old. I've got enough stuff in my closet that unless it's that rare pair that I fell in love with on the first set of photos, I'll either wait out getting it down the road when people have moved on, or just pass it up.

I will pay 40-60 bucks over box if something isn't going to be showing up in my limited access market, just because I don't want to get up in the morning and struggle with trying to buy online. In the end the reseller isn't even making much money on that pair and I got to be lazy on the weekend with my dogs and GF.

I agree that without a person that resells many of us wouldn't be able to cop grails or vintage kicks. I do however have a problem with not only the cats that buy out fsr of a shoe and post it all over IG taxing for em, but also to the stores that let them get away with it.

On the other hand people have gotten so lazy IMO that they don't even try to cop from retailers and are already hitting the resellers. For example Carmine's. I seen a reseller taxing 4hundo for those and peeps lining up asking when he's getting em. Like dog at least attempt to cop and save the cash instead of already taking the L and copping with a mark up.

I get it some states get shafted on releases or have no HOHs, niketowns etc., but I feel if you're in a major market you should be able to cop. Yes you have to put in work but you're knowingly participating in a hobby. We choose to buy kicks. I guarantee that half those people that say they don't have the time to get raffle tickets are out wasting hella time doing other dumb ish.

Resellers suck but kids and adults today are all about getting the e-props so they keep feeding em.

I'm not gonna talk about corgi just state facts. Someone I chopped it up with who knows him personally and said he's "homotional" dude blocked me on IG after I called him out on his string of posts bashing other resellers posts because they were listing vnds shoes. Corgi acted so superior because all his posts were for DS shoes. I was like dude you're a reseller why you mad about other dudes listing the condition? It made no sense.
