They know they won't be near a contender without him so what difference would it make for their own fortunes?I know what you're saying, and If I'm an NBA GM--I'm not doing business with another team in my division. But at this point, you have to listen to all offers, no? That's just bad business for the team at that point.
Why would BK want to trade KD into the same conference? That equally makes no sense. BTW, IF the Knicks do land Mitchell, that pretty much kills the Suns' chances of picking up KD, because they needed the Pacers AND Jazz in a trade to make it work.
If an East squad can offer them the best package that helps them remain competitive right now, that's where they'll send him
