The Hawks are going to be a very expensive 6-8 seed for the next couple of years. The only way the Hawks make a big leap is if Trae Young makes a leap into true superstardom. One of the good things about the current NBA contract structure is that none of these deals are crazy long. It's not like the old days where you could sign six or seven year deals that would cripple your team for a decade.

It seemed like the offer was going to be Siakam, Powell, and filler (Mccaw/Stanley) and pick(s) so I don’t think this affects that much.
