Atlanta should've hired Chip instead of Sark

So he can run a speed offense when they should be milking the clock?

Lateral move.

That's what they've been running though :lol. Just saying Chip to keep up that aggressive play calling since that's what got them to that point.

They've never been a time managing, pound the rock 25-30 times type squad.

I can't really say if Chip learned anything from the Eagles disaster because no coach was doing anything with that 49ers squad

But why would they hire a coach who's style is what caused them to choke away a SB?

ProFootballTalk ‏@ProFootballTalk ·Report: Kyle Shanahan won't hire an offensive coordinator
is this normal?
Not sure if it's normal but its not shocking considering its Kyle Shanahan. Dude is a control freak and doesn't really like people challenging his decisions. I thought he had put his ego aside because of the success this season but I guess I was wrong.

Don't think it's what cost them tbh. Freeman cost them the game more than anyone imo, they made a decent play call that lacked execution but that's another story...

Just to get a little continuity going given all the rumored turnover they're gonna have on that staff

Ahhhhh...I feel yall now... my bad...

Yea, I guess that ain't so common..

I would hire a OC, even if I called the plays. If things go bad, fire him as the fall guy and buy yourself another season

It's not even that.

When you're head coach you have to delegate certain things, regardless of whether you want to call the plays or not.

I kind of feel like its a dumb question but ive been wondering for a bit now, if the HC calls their own plays what does the OC do? Im sure it varies, but ive wondered this multiple times with McCarthy as HC and Edgar Bennett as our OC. I've just assumed McCarthy is in control of the far majority of our offensive planning. And if anything Rodgers takes it from there.

He probably runs offensive practices and gives his input on the depth chart.

HC can't be everywhere at once.
