I wouldn't say the "real" Homer Bailey is a bad pitcher like he was last night. He's just really, really, really inconsistent. It wouldn't surprise me one bit if he threw a shutout his next outing.

Exactly what I said last week after the no hitter. The real Homer Bailey is inconsistent. There is no question about his stuff, just putting it all together every start.

I said this as well but then Pro brought out all these odd stats that supposedly said he wasn't inconsistent. I'm old school, I observe and form my opinion from that :lol

Anna Benson update...

Anna Benson Was Armed For War, According To The Police Report

TMZ

Yesterday we learned that Anna Benson—the Baseball Wife who once vowed to sleep with the entire Mets roster if Kris, her pitcher husband, cheated on her—stormed Kris's house in Smyrna, Ga. on Sunday night with a gun, metal baton, and a bulletproof vest, demanding money. He called the cops. Today, the report produced by the cops gives us a fuller picture of what happened.

Anna showed up at Kris's house and walked through the unlocked garage door. She was carrying an extendable metal baton and a purse with a Taurus Judge five-shot revolver in it, and wearing an ammo belt—complete with knife—and a bulletproof vest. (Why was she wearing a bulletproof vest? She told the cops that it was "a new model she was testing for a company." She needed to wear it all the time so that it could mold to her body. Had nothing to do with her plans for Kris, you see.)

Anna found her way to his bedroom, started swinging around the extendable baton—she hit his computer monitor—and told him she needed $30,000, and would hit him. She took the gun out, too. She called him a "*****" a lot. Kris told her he would get the money, but he needed to go get his wallet. He could get her a lighter, too, while he was out. She needed a cigarette. He then went to the basement, called 911, left the house, and hid in the woods until police arrived.

When they showed up, pointed their guns at her, and placed her under arrest, Anna said she didn't think that she had done anything wrong. She didn't know why it was a big deal. She also said that police ought to look inside Kris's house—there they would find the real crime, "illegal drugs." Lo and behold, the police inventory list includes (in addition to a Taser, a hatchet, and an ammo vest) "1 bag of syringes" and "8 unknown pills." Ladies and gentlemen, we might just have the lamest PED scandal of all time.

The complete inventory now in Smyrna cops' possession:
• 1 Taurus Judge Handgun
• 13 rounds of ammo
• 1 hatchet
• 1 bag of syringes
• 1 hard drive
• 1 ammo vest
• 1 ammo belt (with ammo)
• 1 bullet proof vest
• 1 red knife
• 1 expandable baton
• 1 court order
• 1 black shirt
• 1 2013 Buick Enclave (Anna Benson's)

If he was smart, he would have figured out how to control the situation and piped her down. A part of her was looking for that, I bet :lol

MLB To Suspend Braun, Rodriguez, Others
By Zach Links [July 9, 2013 at 5:07pm CST]
Major League Baseball is expected to suspend Ryan Braun, Alex Rodriguez, and as many as 20 players connected to the Biogenesis clinic sometime after next week's All-Star break, several sources told T.J. Quinn and Mike Fish of ESPN.com. Commissioner Bud Selig's office is considering 100-game bans for Braun and Rodriguez, the punishment for a second offense, despite neither player receiving a previous suspension for violating MLB drug rules.

Suspensions appear to be a certainty for both players and the only issue in question is the length of time that they'll be sidelined. One source said that the league's arguement would be that they, and possibly other players, committed multiple offenses by receiving PEDs from Tony Bosch's clinic and lying about it.

As Quinn explains on Twitter, suspensions are usually levied, appealed, and ruled upon by an arbitrator months later before becoming public, but MLB is allowed to announce suspensions publicly because case has been public. Players who appeal the forthcoming suspensions may continue playing until an arbitrator rules, however.

Braun, who has repeatedly denied using PEDs, refused to answer questions during a recent meeting with the league office about his connection to Bosch, according to sources. A source said that A-Rod has not been interviewed, but a meeting is expected to take place this week.

Did not read, but these guys aren't getting suspended. The players associated will never allow it to happen.

This has been held up for too long, IMO it's due to the MLBPA having reservations and threatening lawsuits.

I think these will be served

Beltre with 6 homers in his last 6 games.  It's pretty amazing how he's maintained an elite offensive skill set into his mid-30s.  You have to wonder how many more homeruns he could have right now if he didn't toil away in SafeCo for 5 years.

I hope they never break up the Beltre-Andrus bromance.
