A this point nothing can is more annoying than steroid hysteria/controversy I wish people would stop reporting it.

Actually Selig has the power to suspend any player he sees fit when dealing with drugs and does not need a failed test. Would he actually suspend any of these guys based on "scribblings of some psuedo-doctor?" Probably not. Is more about to now come out which can lead to suspensions later on? Very possible.

Selig is on his giant public crusade against the drug culture (he wants us to believe he is the industry leader remember!) and nothing would surprise me anymore nor will the media hounds that are now going to be set loose to find ARod for his statements. You can best be sure he is sitting at home right now sweating that this had to come out and his handlers are huddling at what to do next.

He can do it but he'll get hell from the PA. It's a weird situation, especially since they haven't failed any drug tests and MLB has never tested for HGH during the season until this upcoming one.

exactly what i came here to say :{

Justin Upton to Atlanta? Meh, it's so sad to see my beloved Mets not signing any major league free-agents yet. :lol Alderson won't spend money. Not complaining at all. Hopefully some championship-caliber teams takes Johan Santana off the Mets roster. I'd love to see him getting a ring. He deserves one.

Its not Alderson, it is the Wilpons, who bleed money but refuse to sell the team to someone who will spend.

Wilpon, Dolan and Woody...God I have the worst sport owners :{

It hurts being a Mets fan :{
Such a high payroll in a big market city and our team has been feces for a decade. Not reaching the playoffs since 2000 if im not mistaken.

Im kind of jealous reading about the Dodgers and how theyre new owners have gone for broke spending $ like they have a printing machine.

I'd like to see Santana on a playoff contender as well, he definitely deserves a ring.

Madoff scheme set the Wilpons back a ton, while they should be spending money to plug in holes...I have no issues with the way Sandy is running things and building the farm.

Paying for over the hill vets has grown tiresome, need some youth.

The 2006 NLCS doesn't count?

All the moves they've made have been awful though. Don't just spend money to spend it. That's not what you want. You should build your model after what Texas did a few years ago.

That's a pretty big haul to give up for Lowrie. I don't know about this deal. Peacock was depth we needed and the moss/carter platoon was nice.

Carter could do real well in Houston. Right handed power with a short distanced wall? I could see 25-30 HRs as well with consistent burn.

Carter needs to be in a platoon, they had a perfect situation. I think it's too much for Lowrie esp with his injury history.

Paul, I'm thinking of someone else on that team. I can't place it right now though :lol
