I need info on John Jaso ASAP.

...after further review, I am largely indifferent.

I am really disappointed we gave up on Cole already but both reports I read said the A's did well in the trade. We desperately needed help at catcher but I felt Cole was a high price to pay for Jaso. I can't really doubt Beane after the moves he made last year so I'll reserve judgement till later in the season. :lol

It's a move made to compete now, which we haven't been accustomed to. It was a good trade for us.

Agreed. When I first heard of the trade I was like :{ but it has grown on me. At some point you got to give up on prospects to try to win now, glad they are doing that. But Jaso can't hit lefties at all :x. We'll see how him and Norris split time. I am very concerned about throwing runners out also, both of them are horrible at that.

Yeah, we gotta hope that our infield D can make up for poor throws from home plate. I'm real happy that we've got a .400 OBP guy at catcher, though. That was a struggle position for us for so long.

IDK how you can say that when old Gio reared his head in the playoffs :lol Washington is too good, grabbed Cole right back.

:hat my boy gio gonna be the best pitcher in the NL this year
Eh, won't even be the best pitcher on the team :lol Gio needs to start throwing more strikes, when he's out of the zone it's a struggle watching his starts.

That WBC usa roster is horrible

Its obviously no where close to as good as it could be, but:

Adam Jones - CF
Brandon Phillips - 2B
Ryan Braun - LF
Giancarlo Stanton - RF
David Wright - 3B
Mark Teixiera - 1B
Joe Mauer - C
Ben Zobrist - DH
Jimmy Rollins - SS

Thats a pretty damn good lineup. Like I said, it clearly is not in the same ballpark as:

Mike Trout - CF
Brandon Phillips - 2B
Ryan Braun - LF
Josh Hamilton - DH
Giancarlo Stanton - RF
Prince Fielder - 1B
David Wright - 3B
Buster Posey - C
Derek Jeter - SS

Clearly the second group defecates all over the first, but the first group is still pretty good.

Yep. I'm ******ed for that one. Fixed. But my point still stands.

It just isn't feasible for teams to willingly allow their best pitchers to play in a tournament meaningless to them. Just as pitchers aren't likely to risk their arms when they have their careers in mind. Even with the restrictions on pitch count, it only takes one throw to cause serious damage.

Oh I'm not disagreeing with you, I'm just thinking after getting beat down last time out they might have put a little more of a rotation together than dickey, Vogelsong and Holland :lol

I agree with the risk, but the same applies to all the other players to a certain extent. Plus it's before spring training so it forces them to be ready a month before they're normally ready. If I'm an owner there's no way I want my $20 million dollar pitcher pitching in game that has nothing to do with my team or organization or will benefit me in any way, there's too much risk.
But from a fans standpoint, I would love to see the top of the top battle it out from each country, but that's not happen

:lol

He doesn't have the stuff that makes people go. :eek

He doesn't have the track record and awards other pitchers do.

He won't fill the seats.

But during the playoffs last year, there wasn't another pitcher on the Giants I wanted on the mound. Dude is a big-game pitcher and can perfom at the highest levels. I think the more he's counted out, the better he pitches.

I am excited to see him pitch. :hat
