:lol

HIPAA is a law for medical privacy, you cant release details of someones health without their consent. Major violation if someone leaked his hip arthritis to the media/public. And if its just for leverage thats straight up cold :{

what sucks is that if the trade falls apart, now we get stuck with Kemp and we obviously can't bring him back next year with all that went down so far. With Matt's sensitive self it's starting to look like LO in the CP3 trade all over again :{

I'm well aware of what it is. A court won't get involved so it doesn't matter.

Kemp has arthritis in both hips? Wow
Damn that sucks for Kemp, Jimmy Rollins, and the Padres.

If this trade isn't finalized JRoll is stuck in Philly for a little while longer and Kemp's people and the Dodgers are gonna go after the Padres for violating HIPPA cause the info more than likely leaked from their side.
Can you please elaborate on this post?  Specifically the Jimmy Rollins part and the HIPPA....whatever that is?

Thanks.
The Dodgers were supposed to get Zach Eflin from the Padres as part of the Kemp deal, then send him to the Phillies as part of the Rollins deal. The Rollins to Dodgers deal will probably still happen but it would have to be reworked.

My bad its HIPAA not HIPPA but HIPAA is a health act all about health insurance and crap. But it also has a privacy part that says you can't release or disclose someones medical records without their consent. All of these baseball reporters are saying the Padres people leaked the info about Kemp's hips as a way to get more money out of the Dodgers which would be a violation of HIPAA. Basically if he wanted, Kemp could sue and the Padres could face a separate fine from the gov't.
Thanks for the clarification.  Repped.

hipaa violations get folks canned quite often

especially during this social media age......you'd be surprise how many folks get on facebook and start talking too much while being friends w/ people they work with smh

Kemp to Padres deal close to being finalized. Padres asked the Dodgers for more money, Dodgers told them to go kick rocks. So SD basically agreeing to original trade.

Padres also getting Derek Norris in a trade with the A's.

A's really are in the spirit of giving this December :lol .

AL Source: Braves appear to be down the road on a deal sending Justin Upton to an AL West club for a package headlined by young pitching.

Seattle?

I think it's Oakland strictly because the A's have been stockpiling pitching.

I was salivating over thinking about a lineup of Cano, Cruz, Seager, Upton. smhhh we could've been the best team in the AL

Interesting thing happening in SoCal NL West, the Dodgers are operating with a new school analytics/value approach while the Padres are doing in the old-school way, obviously motivated by their new owners and the descendants of O'Malley; yes the one that moved the Dodgers from Brooklyn to LA.

As a fan of baseball I'm loving all of this.

I'm not getting sold on San Diego just yet.  They look good on paper with the trades they made, but I'm not jumping the gun yet.  They still have to compete with LA, and SF in the west, as well as other wild card teams.  And I just heard that the Mets are trying to work something out with Colorado to get Troy Tulowitzki.  Personally, as a native New Yorker, and Met loyalist, I'm not excited about the potential of that trade.  I don't think guys like Tulo could survive in New York.  Guys who usually come from small market teams doesn't always do well in NY, and while he would be great lineup protection for Wright, Duda, and Granderson, I don't think he would do well in NY.  Just my personal opinion.  Every small thing he miscues on, is going to get severely dissected and micro observed.

Love what the Padres are doing. Went from an outfield of Carlos Quentin/Will Venable/Seth Smith to Justin Upton/Matt Kemp/Wil Meyers. My only concern for them now is defense in CF. Upton, Kemp, and Meyers are all corner outfielders and in a park as big as Petco I wouldn't trust having Matt Kemp hold down CF.

SD did it again.  They got 3B covered now.  Ryan Hannigan to Boston for Will Middlebrooks

With all the Padres news didn't realize that Peavy is going back to the Giants with a 2 year, $24M deal that includes a full no trade clause.

If you're a Padres fan, are there any?, there should be a little concern that Peller just completely depleted the farm system for 3 high risk, high reward players. If Myers and Kemp are healthy and Upton stays sharp then he'll look like a genius. However if Myers and Kemp continue to deal with injuries and Upton bounces after 2015... Well, talk about pie in the face.

If you're an NY fan and you don't want Tulo, you deserve the misery that is the cellar in the NL East. Hands down the best all around SS in baseball, miscues are few and far between, his biggest issue is staying healthy. Plus, the Mets are not the Yankees, scrutiny isn't the same.

yeah thats what the mets should do deplete the system for a guy that can't stay healthy with a horrible contract

How'd he completely deplete the farm system? They still have their top three prospects in Matt Wisler, Hunter Renfroe, and Austin Hedges. The only major losses from their Top 20 prospects were Trea Turner, Joe Ross, and Max Fried. 15 of their Top 20 are still in their system, if I'm not mistaken. Not bad considering they just acquired three potential All-Star outfielders.
