@PeterVecsey1: Sickened 2 report, ex-Knick Anthony Mason fighting 4 life. Congestive heart failure, heart attack, 4 surgeries, last one 9 hrs. Sons by side

:( :(

Sad to hear about Mason. He looked good last time I saw him on TV. One of my favorites.

Happy that Amar'e came here. He's my guy but it's time to move on. I hope he goes to a good team that goes far.

The funniest part about that whole clip is the amount of times that Marv said Smith, and none of those times yielded a positive outcome.

Sad to hear about Mase though, he was a true tough guy goon, and they don't come like that anymore, the league is full of wannabes and actors (Garnett, Perkins).

As for STAT, good on him, wherever he goes (Spurs, Warriors), I hope he gets a shot at redemption and playing time. At one point he was my favorite player, but his knees just couldn't hold up to the stress.

Where'd all the Anthony Mason and Charles Oakleys of the basketball world go, it's like that type of ball died off. I GUARANTEE no one like a Garnett or Perkins would try those dudes. I think the closet that we'll see to that is David West. I just have to busy or blinded by the "super hyper athletic" forwards of the last decade and some change to notice that bully ball is dying. Sad day. I hate it has to be Mase.

**** man I hope Mase pulls through. I had the fortune of meeting him a few times and working with his son while we were at SJU, both are really awesome, incredibly funny dudes man. Hope they get through this tough time. Prayers are with them.

Mase had skills though. Dude was pretty much a point forward for the Knicks towards the end of his time in NY and then in Charlotte.

From Wikipedia....

In addition, Mason appears in the Diamond D rap video "Best Kept Secret," dunking his way through the video on a New York City playground basketball court.[10]

The Beastie Boys song "B-Boys Makin' With The Freak Freak" from 1994's Ill Communication LP mentions him with the lyric "I Got My Hair Cut Correct Like Anthony Mason" - The Beasties being NY Knicks fans.[11]

He also appears in the Beastie Boys music video "Root Down".

The closest we had to Mase recently was Kenyon Martin and Metta, and look at who we have now, Bargs.(Sarcasm)

when Mase would bring the other PF guarding all the way out up top and dribble him to death , snap, hit a 3 :smokin

dude had handle ..

It's something with us and PF's. Even though some have come to us with injuries, they don't have the longevity. Let me clarify, good, skilled PF's. We've had some really great/good PF's, but maybe at the wrong time. Imagine if could have swung a deal for Prime STAT. Or prime LJ

Man , just heard the news about Mase. One of my all time favorite Knicks. Dude played 110% from tip off, to the final whistle. Hopefully he'll pull through. Messed up

my boy just put this up on FB ... " I remember he almost beat me up at the auto show one year.. Because I was telling him he sucked and he was scared of Lambeer " ..

if u know the dude who wrote this you'd question none of it :lol

Lol. I remember emulating Mase's free throw style with the left and everything back in the day. He basically shot it one handed
