There's a reason they keep those seperate from the athletic departments. for all the kid brought to your program and more it's really petty to ban a kid from everything when he transfered to help himself out.
Can you imagine giving your boss your two weeks notice because you got a better job and your boss tells you your not allowed to use any of the company's things for those 2 weeks. But you still have to show up
It's not petty.  If the kid is going to look out for his best interest then the team needs to do the same.  He's now the opposition and knew that he wouldn't be able to use the facilities before he transferred.

Not comparable. He's playing a sport that's out of season and the team's workouts consist of preparing for their next season. He's no longer a part of the team and he's literally their first opponent next year. It's not petty at all.

I'd venture to guess that the coach might even have responded differently if they didn't play Oregon week 1.

except the kid looked out for EWU at the same time, which is why he decided so quick. He could have waited till spring and left the schools football team wondering the whole time

because letting him use a weight room is going to give him a gameplan advantage  and look at what the coach said. Hes salty he left and it didnt matter where he went, he wasn't going to let him use any of the athletic departments things

So there was zero benefit for him to commit to Oregon now and not wait til summer?  Was Oregon looking at any other transfers?

Dude's salty as hell. He'd take a transfer from Oregon any day. Doubt we'd hear him ***** and moan then.

:smh:

The double standard here :smh:

I could be wrong but from my understanding he announced now to not keep EWU waiting. He isn't allowed to transfer until after spring anyway.

I mean... I get not letting him work out with the guys...

But if Oregon comes calling when you're ready for a bigger job, are you going to say.. Well EWU gave me an opportunity when nobody else would?

Of course not, but EWU isn't goin to let him use their computers and assistants to recruit for his new school.

I am dumbfounded that people can't see why he isn't allowed in the facilities.
Mannnnn You want out, Get out.

It makes perfect sense why he isn't allowed in the facilities.

@a55a5in11 I think a more comparable job example would be you getting fired and security escorts you out that day and sends you your personal effects in the mail.

You're not part of the team anymore. Why would they let you chill in the building to **** **** up?

But to stick with your example, if you were moving on to a rival company they'd never let you work on stuff that directly affects their competition with that other company and they definitely wouldn't give you access to anything that you could use to steal clients or talent.

How is this comparable?
vernon Adams wasn't kicked off the team. The coach tried to use this as a way to make Vernon stay at EWU and when that didn't work he had to stay by his decision. I'm sorry but I see no reason why he can't even use the weight room. I understand using the game tape and practicing with the players but he can't even lift weights? That's OD to me. tell him he can't be there at certain times. But it's obvious he is only doing it because he is mad and is worried more about his own interests and not the kids.

Vernon could have easily delayed his decision until after spring and had all those practices with the team and really ****** them over

Why does he have to use the team weight room when he's not on the team anymore. Can other students use those facilities?

I don't get the disconnect there for you. You talked about what he did for the program. Can alums walk off the street and use the team facilities?

He's not on the team anymore. It's a decision he made. So why should he get the perks of being a team member to help him prepare to play with a different team that they face week 1.

Coach lost the most important player on his team so I don't blame him for doing that. People expect him to roll out the red carpet because his qb is moving up to D1A.

Anddddddd they face them in week 1 this year.....Coach knows the qb tendencies so hell he might have a good gameplan to make the game closer than many expect.

Yes

Former student/athletes who have ansferred out, No they can not.

That wasn't the question. Former players use the facilities time. Hell players like John wall use the university of Washington facilities alot in the off season. I'm sure in 5 years they will welcome him back with open arms and retire his number.

I don't remember hearing about Cam Newtons JC coach banning him from the facilities when he transfered to Auburn. Or Seas trunk when he was looking to transfer. People transfer all the time and this never comes up
