Syracuse, N.Y. — Durell Eskridge has been awarded co-defensive back of the week honors by the ACC, it was announced Monday.
The redshirt junior safety put together his most productive game this season, returning an interception 29 yards for a touchdown, recovering a fumble and notching a season-high nine tackles in a 31-15 loss to then-No. 8 Notre Dame on Saturday night at MetLife Stadium.
Eskridge shared the honors with Duke's Jeremy Cash, who recorded 10 tackles and forced two fumbles in a loss to Miami (Fla.).
It was the first time this year a Syracuse player has picked up weekly honors from the conference.
Eskridge's fifth career interception marked the first interception return for a touchdown by a Syracuse defender since Keon Lyn did so in the 2012 regular-season finale at Temple.

Utah State HC Matt Wells was surprised by the "report" BYU DL Remington Peck made regarding a possible medical redshirt for senior QB Chuckie Keeton.
"BYU said that?!," Wells said when asked about the statement. "We’ll get him to practice today and we’ll see what is going on," the head coach said of Keeton. The quarterback has not played in a game and a half, and has not looked the same this season after tearing his ACL last year. It is worth noting that Wells did not outright deny the report, only stating Keeton will be evaluated after practice.

TFY Draft Insider's Tony Pauline is hearing from scouts that Stanford junior CB Alex Carter will enter the 2015 NFL Draft and become a top-100 pick.
"Carter’s star continues to shine as the junior has displayed great improvement this season," Pauline wrote. "During Stanford’s critical conference victory over Washington, he shut down Husky receivers and came up big during the closing moments of the game, breaking up several passes to go along with five tackles. Carter possesses excellent size and plays strong, physical football. Numerous west coast sources tell me Carter will enter the draft and he’s expected to slot into the top 100 selections." The 6-foot, 202-pound junior was named to the preseason Nagurski Award and Bednarik Award watch lists.
