They could've had their light yellow skinned PG next year when they sign Russ.
He's the better prospect. And more suited for today's NBA.
Picking Russell over Jahlil was a step in the right direction for the Lakers. And they were not wrong in the pick of Russell over Jahlil so far.

Russell didn't impress me in high school/college. I didn't really see anything special that made him a Top 3 pick in last year's draft. I would've took Jah or Mudiay over him 10 times out of 10, think I said that in the NBA Draft thread as well.

Outside of his game vs VCU in the tourney, I wasn't impressed. Add in the fact they already had Clarkson, just didn't see the need for a DLo type of guard when they could've had Jah or a more polished PG in Mudiay.
Not saying Russell won't turn into a baller in the league, just didn't like the pick for LA at #2.

Its true, but I still say he's played well this year in the limited and totally inconsistent minutes he's been given. I'm honestly sad to see him go, if the trade happens. And I was not a fan of his at all before he got to the Clippers. I think he's done enough this year to wind up somewhere else in the league if whatever team the Clippers trade him to ends up releasing him.
