That's not that crazy. Nate McMillan retired in 1998 and was the Sonics heads coach by 2000. Any player who becomes a head coach within a few years of retiring (Kidd, Fisher, etc.) could feasibly do it. Kobe and KG just happened to play with their coaches 20 years ago lol.
