The issue is he isn't decent anymore.
He's awful. He blew his knee out and there went his career. Can't do anything but hoist up long contested 2's and 3's and be a liability on defense and when you're 5'9 there's no need for that. No place in the league for him.

Basically. If he was a true PG, it might be different, but he's not. He's more of a scorer. It used to be that he was explosive enough and could get hot often enough that it was worthwhile for a team to keep him around. But that's not the case anymore now that his athleticism isn't what it used to be. The run he had with the Bulls a few years ago, before he tore his ACL, was pretty awesome though.
