James Harden is an excellent passer, probably the best 2 guard pick and roll player in the league outside Manu Ginobili.

He doesn't ISO more than Kobe, Melo, Joe Johnson ect and people don't hate them as much.

The Rockets rarely run plays, so when the first pick and roll/post doesn't work, they throw it to harden to make a play, to make it out like he's this insane ball stopper ball hog just isn't true.

He's isn't a "black hole" not even close.

That's true. But that can be said about a lot of the star "ball stoppers" in the league to me.

Not really, you can see it in the SportsVu stats, some guys stop the ball to islate and shoot 90% of the time.

Carmelo is the platonic ideal of a ball stopper.

Cleveland doesnt scare me at all. Good team, but they can be beaten.
Agreed. I still like the Bulls in the east. Better blend of experience and youth overall with good defense and rebounding, and has enough scoring now to get it done.

Like I said, I enjoyed watching Harden play even after his first year in Houston. He was everything you described here, and I have already stated as much. McHale has allowed the ISO Harden to come out excessively and enabled Harden to have sticky hands.

Coming into the league Harden was Manu 2.0 and created so much. Now a days he's content with flopping himself into defenders, holding the ball, taking up 20 seconds of the shot clock, jab stepping aimlessly etc. He operates a lot differently than he used to and his evolution as a franchise player isn't something I've enjoyed over the past two years.

No rim protection = no championship.

I will go to my grave believing this, maybe the Cavs come out the east, but I can't see them winning.

Spurs have that veteran championship experienced roster, great support team players, Cavs look good on paper but they still unproven

the spurs also play in the western conference and key contributors are much older

chicago isn't that good. They don't have the offense to truly compete.

the east is offensively challenged

It's ideal to have a rim protector but unless you consider Bosh a rim protector, Miami won 2 rings without one and made 4 straight with the best offering of J. Anthony, Haslem and Bosh (and Birdman as a reserve)

Cavs don't have enough experience to win the ship

Kyrie, Love, TT, Waiters, etc will crumble in the big stages. Of course they're gonna beast in the reg season because they pressure isn't there but when they hit the playoffs you'll see the inexperience shine.

i understand all that... but who the hell in the east will beat them?

are people banking on rose having an MVP season or something? I don't get it

maybe..... the knicks are back? 8o

after that it really just depends on the match up that comes out west and they will have alot of vets on that team anyway

The Cavs are flying high with LeBron coming back and all, but the fact that being overlooked is the Cavs is going to be lackluster on defense as a team, and get manhandled on the boards by teams with big front lines (Spurs, Wizards, Bulls) etc.

Wade and Lebron provided the rim protection, their decline in athleticism initiated the decline of Miami's defense.
