Yea too bad Kobe is actually the one who requested D'Antoni so i doubt it. What Kobe wants, Kobe gets.

Don't believe the media telling you Phil wasn't down to coach LA 2 years ago
It wasn't Phil's fault, it was that d**n muth*****ing Jim Buss and kinda Mitch Kupchak
What does that have to do with anything. Phil was down to coach, Kobe wanted D'Antoni
Kobe wanted Phil, he ok'd MDA because that's all he was offered

and where are you getting this info? Because i got it directly from a player on that team.

All this someone told me nonsense is just that..nonsense

To believe Kobe wud want mda over the man that got him his rings is ******ed
lmao "someone told me" kind of has credibility when he was a key player on the actual team. Yea i'm going to believe his word over the media.

im sure @doworkson  and @rck3sactown  can confirm that i have this knowledge

lol at Kobe want MD over Phil

where do you guys come up with these things?

Kobe Bryant once gushed over Mike D’Antoni, labeling him as an “offensive genius” after idolizing his professional career in Italy and playing for him with two U.S. Olympic teams. Bryant even proclaimed D’Antoni as “his first choice” to coach the Lakers following Mike Brown’s firing before realizing Phil Jackson became an option.

They haven't cared about kobes opinion for a awhile already.

. Kobe doesn't have the same pull now that he did when he was in his prime obviously.

But but "a player on the team told him"

Yep. and a player on the teams word > the word of some writer for insidesocal.com

You mean Dr. Jerry Buss' fault.

Because he made the decision for Mike D'Antoni, told his daughter it was his choice, and even Phil Jackson said Jerry Buss made the decision

Yea that's why they just gave his old injured *** an enormous amount of money and let him run Dwight Howard out of town

Even if it did happen, it would only hurt the T'Wolves. We would keep Wiggins, and Love would likely just leave for Cleveland after the season as he's made it clear he's not looking to sign with anyone else.

It hurts Wolves because they don't get Wiggins.. But Love to Cavs if the trade is vetoed isn't an easy path.

Cavs would have to clear out Waiters, Thompson & Bennett for no salary back. Not put up a QO for Dellavedova and Erik Murphy

LeBron, Irving, Wiggins, Miller and 7 cap holds of $507,000 would put the Cavs $2.4mil short of a Kevin Love max deal.

This trade should vetoed on the premise thAt there was tampering or whatever that goes under in the nba rules

They vetoed the CP3 trade for no reason, they can cone up with something for this trade

Like when players, gms and other teams know this much its plausible

They did veto the CP3 trade for a reaosn. The league owned the hornets and they were trying to sell the team to someone, and they felt the deal in place as far as trading CP3 would keep them from selling the team.

There's no real reason to Veto this trade. Just a sensationalist headline to stir up some chit chat.

They vetoed that trade so Bron can keep his face of the nba stamp making sure it doesn't get slandered cuz the lakers might have knocked em down..

That could have been a great rivalry
Miami n LA

Goodness I hope you aren't serious with this :lol

Srs...n I don't even got no hate for bron

The nba likes to have that one guy and Kobe on his way out... You think those refs didnt get a memo pushing for miami in the playoffs? If so we must of been watching different games...

I don't buy that the nba owned Nola garbage..so what? It would of been good tv money for cp Dwight n.kobe on the Lakers..they want Bron to shine just like mike did..it brings in more fans which brings in mors money

You really think the league vetoed the CP3 trade to LAL because they wanted to keep Lebron's face of the NBA stamp? Really? And not because the league owned the team and wanted to find a more attractive trade that would allow the team to look more appealing to potential suitors? Really?

I guess my dude :lol

But cp3 wanted out and was a FA within a year or two no? It would've made more sense to trade him for picks and young players/short contracts. Would a prospective owner rather have Chris Paul that's gonna walk in a year or two, or dragic, kmart, a first rounder from Houston, and whatever high picks they would've made in subsequent drafts? Surely that would've been better than the Eric Gordon and al-farouq aminu consolation prize

And yes, I'm a salty laker fan

Edit: after I heard about the Love deal, I went and reread that Dan Gilbert letter...:{ :|

So would this be like Kobe in the early 2000s?

Pretty muchmuch. They found that formula works, to have that one guy as the face of the league. The NBA was struggling, then along comes Bird and Magic. Once they got older, theythe league was saved by MJ, who helped turn the NBA into a global brand. Then comes Kobe, then Bron, they're tryna make KD the next up but he can't get it done in the championship column. And as long as the Spurs unit remains healthy, and Jaundice remains at the point for OKC, he won't.
