He's gonna be 30 years old and misses games every other season , including last year but he's a no brainer for the max :lol

It's whatever bros its just obvious there's no consistency behind a lot of opinions, just making **** up as they go along.

Problem is I take people's opinions seriously so to see em turn around and contradict it makes me scratch my head that's all.

Just for reference:
More specifically, it's enough for Marc Gasol (who seems to be at the top of fans' wish lists). A max contract for him would start at $19,950,000 (30% of the projected salary cap) because he has between 7-9 years of NBA service.

30 yrs old? i didn't even realized he's that old already :lol

I'm not even that completely sold on him anyway.

Funny thing is I actually like Gasols game, offering him the max just goes against what I've been hearing for weeks :{

Don't give 30 year olds a max
Don't max out injury prone guys
Don't max out 2nd tier players only flat out Supetstars like Bron or KD/Westbrook

But all those things go out the window when it comes to this guy :{, seriously it doesn't add up.

I'm sure you'll get an essay-like answer from someone soon enough 8o

I would have maxed out Melo. Better option than we had.

Maxed out Bledsoe.

Maxed out Gasol.

But I'm of the mind Marc is the type of guy who may leave a couple of mil on the table for the right situation.

Saver, I mean, you read every word I say, CLEARLY you should have seen where I said paying for Marc, a two way player, at a premium position, is wiser than signing Melo. Yes?

Someone that helps both sides of the court = more value. Do you need help with that, while you're busy basing assumptions on what players I like and don't like?

Oh, you also have the timing factor. Melo costs our top 5 pick, Gasol comes AFTER we give a shot at keeping that spot.

Lastly, Gasol comes from a West competitor. Melo, an Eastern team that has no benefit to prying a guy away from.

So, plays effectively on both sides of the court, at premium position, from a direct competitor, and still offers a chance at keeping our pick.

But I'll take a wild guess, and say you're still gonna be in here cryin for Melo, it's soooo unfair CP wants this guy, but not that guy, I just don't understand, the 7 valid reasons aren't enough, etc etc etc.

:lol

So Melo ain't worth the max cuz he old , Bledsoe is injury prone so nobody wanna pay him either but we ready to give Marc Gasol the max :{

Going by most logic in here he's not worth it because he's Old AND injury prone :{, that's what I mean when I say the people who say these things go back n forth just to suit their argument.

This from ESPN who is national media so it must have some validity to it right :

Worst investment of 2013-14
Marc Gasol, C, Memphis Grizzlies
$11.58 per player rater point

Now, this really isn't fair, as Gasol dealt with an injury that forced him to miss nearly 20 games. And you should also factor in that injuries kept Gasol from performing at peak capacity for another 20 games. But the stats still count, and by season's end, he'll have played in nearly 70 percent of possible games played.

And, you should have known he ran a fair chance of getting injured.

What? Gasol played 80 games in 2012-13. You were safe drafting him, right?

Wrong. Gasol is an every-other-season player, as in every other season he misses 10-15 games due to one injury or another. If you followed that pattern, you knew 2013-14 had a good chance of being the "other" season. That's why I didn't have Gasol on any of my teams this season.

Wait a minute......you just used Fantasy Sports player ratings against us????? :eek :rollin :rollin :{

Come on man. You're better than that.

I'm getting the impression that we're not getting Bryan Scott. Soooooooooo who's next in line?

I'm starting to see it basically boils down to who personally likes a player and who doesn't, then dudes just build an argument based on not liking a certain player and go from there. Don't front, just say you don't like a guy instead of pulling reasons outta the sky only to neglect them when It comes to another player that you're a fan of.....it's very transparent.

Who are these people you speak of??

Who is doing that?? Just curious.

lotta people (outside NT also) are assuming THE BEAN to be an "avg" player this season. RISE OF THE MAMBA WILL BE EPIC!!!!

I have faith that this whole "year off" we all suffered through was not in vain!

but for real I think he will prove alotta people wrong......if not it was a hell of a career, glad I got to watch the boy become a man!

Who knows at this point.

I know someone jokingly said Mark Madsen... and I'd be down. Even if Byron wasn't out of the running.

You guys say we need a coach?

Don't worry, I've already hired myself.

I just brought a few boxes into El Segundo, set up my office, put some personal photos up, and started working. I walk around greet players, have a dry erase board where I just draw a bunch of X's and O's to make it look like I have created a play. My door says Coach Marshall. Went to payroll, gave them all my information.

Pulling a George Costanza.

Yeah why not. Madsen's a good dude. I'd rather have him during our struggle years, than having Bryon for pretty much no reason

Is Byron that bad? If so why? Just wondering cuz I really don't know. Been hearing mixed things

I don't really see why keeping our 1st rd pick for 2015 is so paramount. We owe Phoenix a 1st rounder sometime down the road no matter what. If we're lucky enough to land in the top 5 this season, they'll just get our pick in 2016. I wouldn't pass on getting a truly impactful player currently for fear of them hindering us from being top 5 pick bad.

Or am I missing something here?
