I kinda wondered if Michigan State's defense was a product of plodding Big Ten offenses or not, I mean Indiana who runs a spread did tear then up in a losing effort. Even Ohio State had success against their defense during the CG.

Narduzzi is good nonetheless, Brent Venables yea not so much.

Bethel II booted for punch to Battle

Texas Tech has dismissed cornerback Nigel Bethel II following an incident during an on-campus basketball game on Saturday.

Bethel, a freshman from Miami, punched Texas Tech women's basketball player Amber Battle in the face during a pickup basketball game.

"Texas Tech Athletics has a zero tolerance policy on this type of behavior," the school announced in a statement.

According to the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal, Battle is expected to have surgery after sustaining a broken bone from the hit. Battle was the Red Raiders' leading scorer with 16.4 points per game last season, and also led the team in rebounds and assists to earn second-team All-Big 12 honors.

Texas Tech spokesperson Blayne Beal confirmed to ESPN.com that Battle was the victim in the incident, but did not know when or if she will require surgery.

Bethel was Texas Tech's highest-rated recruit in its incoming freshman class, an ESPN 300 prospect from Miami's Booker T. Washington High School who joined the program this summer.

He was expected to participate in both football and track at Texas Tech.

[COLOR=#red]She's a serious baller for Tech...probably was lighting him up...mix in some trash talk and hurt egos and a punch can happen.

This is not new.... pickup game fights between Football and Basketball players in college...read up on Melvin Whitacre from UVA a 7 footer who got into with a UVA football guy and Melvin slashed his face.

Also in another summer school football versus hoops fight that I was around for was the notorious Jerry Stackhouse versus Freddie Jones (Tight End for UNC) altercation at the famous Woolen Gym. Stack had just gotten there for summer school before his freshman year. Stack was a bast though and nobody really wanted with him in the knuckle game.
